Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

You can see from the top of this page our students are excited to share their cultures! Today we celebrated Pi Day (3.14) and we also got excited for the Multicultural Night this Saturday. Invite your friends and come have a wonderful dinner and experience, starting at 5:30 (but still rocking after Saturday Night Mass).

Yesterday evening we had a fabulous turnout at our annual State of the School meeting where we informed and shared our vision of where OLG has been and where we are headed. Next Thursday, March 21st (6:30pm) is the final Vision 2025 opportunity to share your thoughts in person and learn how our long-term strategic plan is being formed. Come join us for door prizes and treats too :)

Thank you to the amazing work of our Auction volunteers and attendees! Our event had a total revenue of more than $125,000!!! Wow! And $21,000+ of that directly goes to our Fund-A-Need: Science for the Next Generation. Thank you to the generous attendees and donors who have already given for this great update to our curriculum and for all this major fundraiser provides to keep our operating expenses moving forward! Final expenses and net revenue will be shared at upcoming Parent Org meetings.

With all that has been going on recently, you may have forgotten to nominate an OLG Distinguished Educator! This annual award recognizes one teacher or staff member for excellence in education here at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Recognize an individual who stands out in your child’s life and makes a significant positive difference through his or her educational ministry. The award recipient receives a stipend for summer travel and professional development, pledging to return and share the experience with their classroom and school. One last chance to nominate (click here)!!! Deadline extended till Sunday!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

OLG Immigrant Ministry is Welcoming New Members
Come check out OLG’s Immigrant Ministry as we seek new ways to encounter our immigrant brothers and sisters through education, advocacy and community building. Our next meeting is Friday, March 29 at 9:30am in the Pastoral Center. Come learn about the upcoming Pilgrimage, the Youth Migrant Project, supporting a local asylee family, and more! We look forward to seeing you there!

Join the Shelter Meal Delivery Team
Have a couple hours a month to give? Join the St. Martin de Porres food delivery team! Each week, one member of the teams picks up food (about 10-20 food trays, wrapped and sealed) from Salty’s and delivers them to St. Martin Homeless Shelter, a short 10 minutes away. This ministry started many years ago by the 50’s Funsters and we want to keep it going. Also needed is someone to pick up trays and return them to Salty’s once a week, Thursday through Saturday. Working with a team provides great flexibility. St. Martins, Salty’s, and especially the recipients, appreciate what we as a parish do. To learn more, contact Mary at [email protected] .

Fr. Greg Boyle is Coming to OLG: Get your Tickets now!
We are excited to announce that on Wednesday, May 8, OLG will be hosting Fr. Greg Boyle, founder of Homeboy Industries. “Fr. G” is a Jesuit priest in L.A. who started the largest gang-intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program in the world. We anticipate this event being very popular so be sure to take advantage of this early announcement to the OLG community and get your tickets now! You can buy $12 tickets online  (note: there is a $1.41 service fee for online tickets), in the parish office, and in the school office. Look for ticket sales after Mass sometime soon. To learn more about Fr. G, check out his books, “Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion” and “Barking to the Choir: The Power of Radical Kinship”, or go to  homeboyindustries.org . To see more about his OLG presentation, go to www.olgseattle.org/outreach .
