Dear St. Alphonsus Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for State of the School in the week before Spring Break! It was a really enjoyable evening. If you missed it, you can find a summary of the evening below.
Some important reminders for you this week!
Today is the LAST DAY for ordering your yearbooks. Sales will end at midnight tonight, and NO late orders will be accepted. A limited number of yearbooks will be available at a higher cost, sold on a first come first serve basis, at the end of the school year. You can find the link to order below.
Mom Prom Registration also ends this week! Find more details about this fun event for mothers and sons below and get your registration turned in by Friday. And if you are a dad who enjoyed the Father/Daughter Dance, please consider volunteering so that the Moms can have their turn!
This week is Safe Environment Week throughout the Archdiocese. Read the Archbishop's proclamation below and find out more about what this week means for our school and parish.
At long last, the 2025-2026 School Calendar is here! Thank you for your patience as we worked together as a Leadership Team with Mrs. Sagat to get this year's calendar squared away. You can download a printable copy of the calendar here and see a picture snapshot below.
Be sure you're following us on Facebook and Instagram as we share the reveal of our Secret Spirit Week! The week before Spring Break we asked our staff to participate in this "underground" spirit week for staff only, doing fun things like drinking out of Anything But a Cup and dressing "like a Spring Breaker." It was fun for students to try to figure out what was going on and for staff to keep the secrets all week long!
We hope you had an enjoyable Spring Break. We are happy to have everyone back in the building! It was fun to see everyone dressed in their Brewers gear today as we kick off Ms. Parey's favorite season: baseball season! Go Brewers!
Have a great week!
Best regards,
Ms. Parey, Principal
Mrs. Schermetzler & Mrs. Bruhn, Leadership Team

| Safe Environment Week: March 30 - April 6, 2025 | |
This Week is the Annual Safe Environment Week Throughout the Milwaukee Archdiocese
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and every year the Archdiocese of Milwaukee designates a Safe Environment Week, so that they can assure that every parish and school, as well as the entire faith community focuses, at the same time, on the importance of keeping our children and youth safe.
Did You Know…
In 2024, in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, 267 Safe Environment Education Sessions
were conducted with over 5,500 adults trained in identifying signs of abuse and neglect,
over 8,900 criminal background checks were conducted on clergy, employees, and
volunteers, and about 43,000 children were trained in Safe Environment topics. Every
year in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, each parish and school are required to complete a
report documenting their compliance with the Safe Environment Program’s policies and
procedures. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safe Environment Office uses those reports
to compile an archdiocesan report for USCCB audit firm Stonebridge Partners on our
archdiocesan compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has been found compliant every year since 2004.
You can read the Archbishop's Proclamation below.

State of the School Recap
We had a wonderful State of the School event earlier this month with our parents & staff attending! State of the School is designed to give a snapshot of how the school is doing and we are happy to report that St. Alphonsus School is thriving!
Father Kevin opened the event with a welcome and a prayer, and then introduced our new principal, Mrs. Sagat, who talked with families about her background and experience, as well as her excitement in coming to St. Alphonsus. Father Kevin then spoke a bit about Ms. Parey's new role--she will be transitioning into the parish office, working closely with Kathy Jaeckels and Father Kevin on some special project needs as well as taking over for Kara Raflik in her role at the parish office when she retires in June.
Amy Schermetzler, our Marketing & Special Events Coordinator, spoke briefly about school enrollment and current marketing initiatives. We are happy to report that our 3K & 4K classes are almost full for next school year already! St. Alphonsus School's strategy is to fill from the bottom up, and coming off of one of our busiest tour seasons ever, we are excited to be almost full in our Early Childhood Wing.
Lastly, Tricia Williams, our Home & School President, spoke briefly about the success of Home & School this year, in both funding and in community building.
Thank you so much to all of you for your support of St. Alphonsus Catholic School. We are in a great place right now, and we couldn't have done it without your support! If you know someone interested in Catholic Education for their children, please recommend St. Alphonsus to them! Word of mouth is our best form of advertisement, and we would love to see more families join us!

Join us for a super fun night out on Friday, May 2 at Boerner Botanical Gardens! Every year we have more and more St. Alphonsus school parents attending and it's always an awesome time. Visit the parish auction web page for more details.
In addition to registration being open, this year we are also selling raffle calendars! $25 each and only 750 sold. These make great gifts to pop into Easter baskets and the like--yes, your kiddos could win, too (just adults need to purchase them!). Many chances to win, so check out all the details below and stop by the parish auction table in the gathering space to pick one up.
Thank you for your support of this year's auction!

Student Volunteers Needed for the Parish Auction!
This is a great way for kids to get service hours, saves St. Al’s the money we’d otherwise have to pay for adult waitstaff, and is a lot of fun!
Students should arrive at 4:30 and will be done between 9:30 and 10:00. Students will assist with table and other set up. They will serve appetizers to guests during cocktail hour. After that, they will work in the dining room, clearing salad plates, serving entrees, bringing coffee carafes to the tables and clearing plates, glasses, silverware, etc. at the end of the meal.
We will feed students dinner shortly after arrival. Students should wear a plain, white shirt or blouse and black pants or skirt with comfortable, closed toe shoes.
Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to serve. High schoolers are also welcome. Sign up here!
| | | |
The Auction Committee is also still looking for donations for the Silent Auction portion of the evening!
Please check out the letter below for some ideas of what could be donated. We would love to have your help to make this year's auction a success!
