Dear St. Alphonsus Families,
Happy Monday, and welcome to November! Here is hoping everyone survived the time change and is ready to embark on a cozy holiday season and Advent coming up soon as well.
A few reminders for you this week!
First, join us tonight at 6:00pm in the Community Room for the Home & School All-School Meeting. This is a chance for those of you who are not yet involved with Home & School to come learn about all the events this great organization puts on for us. You can find more details below.
Today we made an update to Parent Teacher Conferences that affects mostly grades 6-8. Parents in those classes will be making appointments on a separate sign-up genius with their child's homeroom teacher only, who will review written notes for their other classes. This allows all middle school parents the opportunity to have a conference, as we would not have enough slots otherwise. 5th grade parents, if you signed up for a conference with Ms. Morrison, it has been canceled--you will only be meeting with Miss Peacock. You can find more details and both links to sign up for conferences below.
All the changes that we promised in the school store have been added! There are some great items for Christmas as well as some new items approved for School Mass. You can find details below. Please note that if your child has a St. Alphonsus branded fleece jacket from previous years, this is still approved for Mass. You do not need to buy a new one for your student to wear this at church.
In exciting news, today the Archdiocese of Milwaukee announced that a new Archbishop has been named to replace Archbishop Listecki who is ending his term in January. Pope Francis announced that his choice for the 12th Archbishop of Milwaukee is the Most Reverend Jeffrey S. Grob. Archbishop-Designate Grob is a Wisconsin native who has served as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Chicago since 2020. More information about Archbishop-Designate Grob is posted on the archdiocesan web site at www.archmil.org.
With that, we wish you a great week! As a reminder, you can always find an archive of our school newsletters on our website here. This is the first stop for you for information about what's going on at school!
Best regards,
Ms. Parey, Principal
Mrs. Schermetzler & Mrs. Bruhn, Leadership Team
