The OLG School Chorus leads
All-School Mass Today
"Ale, Ale, Aleluia!"
Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

This week we had a fabulous All School Mass with the 5th grade class leading the way. Fr. Kevin gave us all a lesson on martyrdom; the Mass was in honor of St. Ingatius of Antioch, one of the earliest Bishops of the church who was martyred in the Roman Coliseum. Luckily, we all survived the day, even through our participation in the Great Shakeout along with schools and businesses around the state. No martyrs yet in our school... but plenty for us to think about as we move out in this world, witnessing our relationships in the One Body of Christ and the power the holy spirit.

One way we are called, especially as "In-Parish" families, is in our support of the OLG Stewardship campaign. We are all the Many Parts that make up our parish community, and without our parish community, our school would not exist. We are more than simply another private school. As our Mission states, we are able to foster, develop, and inspire our youth as a sacramental community, together. Those of you who were at the Ministry Fair this last weekend saw how many ways our parish community is enriched by so many who give back. The parish (that's you) directly supports our school in the range of $140,000 per year. Please pray together as a family, and in Mass over the next few weeks to complete your annual sacrificial giving card as a member of the OLG parish.

One further update I've been asked about a lot as our school Auction plans are getting underway: Our Development Director! Our hiring process is wrapping up in the next few days, and I hope to introduce to you our new hire in the coming week. Looking forward to another great week... read on for the many exciting things happening next week and beyond!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Parent Org News
We need Carnival volunteers...
The good news? OLG's annual Halloween Carnival is a much-beloved tradition and so much fun! The bad news? The Carnival requires a LOT of volunteers to pull off.

Here are a few needs we still need filled:

  • Set-Up: Like to decorate? Want to see how it all comes together? We need you!
  • Trunk-or-Treat: We have participation from every grade EXCEPT K, 3, 5, and 7. Each student brings in a bag of candy to fill the participating trunk. Best theme/decor wins a class party!
  • Volunteer Coordinator: New this year. Can you answer questions and help first-shift volunteers get to where they need to be?
  • Dunk Tank: The Tank is hugely popular. We need fun-loving middle schoolers, adults, or teachers to do 30 minutes in the tank AND attendants to help reset after a splash!
  • SnapBar: A cool new toy for a volunteer who loves tech!
  • Game Attendants: Can you supervise a carnival game? (Bonus points for barking!)
  • Art Corner: Children. Treat bags. Stickers. What's not to like?
  • Clean-Up: No post-Carnival plans? Strong and efficient? Can you stay and help clean up?

MEANWHILE , Carnival wristband and ticket pre-sales are hot! Get your discounted all-inclusive wristband online at  olgevents.org  or via cash or check  by THIS MONDAY, Oct. 21st .

And there's still time to send a Halloween Gram to someone special – they're due back to the school office on Monday, Oct. 21st. Support our Parent Org and purchase Grams for just $1 each in the front office (cash only) or online at  olgevents.org .

Pray for sun!
