Dear OLG Families,
October is here! We've been in school a month now and so much has gone on. Thanks to the support of so many, our Jogathon was a rousing success this past month with over $21,000 in donations, supporting the efforts of our Parent Org and generating enthusiasm from far and wide. Thank you for sharing the story of OLG with friends, neighbors, and family! As we continue to do things "virtually" and "remote" there is a growing hunger for community and connectedness...
This weekend we have two other major events on our campus... Saturday's "Drop in Service Day" is a great way to get Flu Shots, Masks, and more completed in one drive-thru setting ! And on Sunday is our parish blessing of all teachers, parents, and students: join in the livestream Mass @ 10am. Mrs. Kristin, our school counselor, has also been reviewing student and family survey data and offers other ways to be connected in these times of closures and remote learning times. Click on the info-graphic above for more ideas and thoughts.
Next week NWEA MAPs continues for grades 1-8. Again the online parent guide is here: https://www.nwea.org/parent-toolkit/ Thank you all for your patience and assistance in this process as we strive for academic excellence even in these trying times.

Preschool and PreK classes returned in-person this week and boy were they excited to be back! Our Kindergarten continues to transition in small groups next week, returning to full days later this month. Our next steps in the process for the rest of our classes returning in-person will be in a separate email later today to save space here in this newsletter. Thank you for all you do to help build our community together and continue to share the Bread of Life.

Yours in Christ,
Anton Kramer

2021 Annual OLG Auction- Full Steam Ahead!
Mark your calendars: the 49th Annual OLG Auction is set for March 6, 2021! We don't know yet whether we'll be donning our very best maritime chic and gathering in person or kicking back with a self-made cocktail and bidding online, but we DO know this year's event it sure to be a nautical extravaganza of epic proportion!
Our Procurement Committee has already secured many new and exciting items and packages to bid on this year thanks in part to the many families who made cash donations this month. If you're planning to make your donation in cash, we're grateful. Not only does it help us lift the pressure off our local business community, it helps us leverage donations into the kind of bid-worthy experiences necessary to succeed in a difficult virtual environment.
If you have an item to donate and haven't yet reached out to Development Director Rebecca Arcarese, please e-mail her as soon as possible.
Finally, we're growing! Every meeting brings new faces who want to get in on the fun. We meet the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. and hope to see you there!

Help Shape the Next Congressional COVID-19 Relief Package
As Congress negotiates the next relief package, speak up for immigrants and those facing food insecurity. Every day, immigrants are at the forefront of fighting the effects of this pandemic, yet Congress has excluded them from every federal relief package and, in its latest bill, is actively penalizing tax-paying mixed–immigration status families. Speak up for immigrant families to assure that all taxpayers get rebates, all have access to COVID testing, and the safety of all workers are protected. Visit nilc.org/action for a pre-written, editable action alert. You can also advocate for a 15% boost Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, which help people buy food and also stimulates the economy.
