Thank you to our amazing and fun volunteers!
The Carnival was a great success!
Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Saints Alive! We have Mass tomorrow morning with our 3rd Grade Saints and all the saints of our community. Fr. Kevin made sure to remind me that All Saints Day is a day of holy obligation and what better way to be more holy than to be with our parish community! Prior to Mass we also have a "Meet & Greet" with our new Development Director, Rebecca Arcarese! Read more about Rebecca below, and we hope to see you tomorrow morning.

Many of you may have seen the news recently about a neighboring school of ours, St. Bernadette (Burien), and their fire and smoke damage. I helped coordinate other schools in our region in assisting with refilling basic school supplies, but there are many other small things that they are finding a little cash can help with. Our student council has invited fellow students to participate in helping St. B's recovery efforts. If you'd like to donate a dollar, or a few, a jar is available at Shelley's desk at the main office. Together our Many Parts can help our One Body neighbors grow whole again.

November is right upon us and that means Conferences! The signup invite was sent earlier; thank you for allowing the larger families in our midst to get first crack at things. Please make your signups now at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0c4ea8ad2fa6fe3-fall2
EDC signups are also available for Wed, Thur, Fri of next week. See below & inside the conference signup for details and links. Progress reports for 1st-8th Grade will be sent by email in the next day or so so you have an opportunity to review before your student-led conference.

Our parish annual stewardship campaign is in the final stages of inviting participation. Families who are receiving In-Parish Tuition, now is the time to bring your part to the one body of our parish. Please pray together as a family, and in Mass over the next few weeks to complete your annual sacrificial giving card as a member of the OLG Parish, or if you misplaced that little pledge card, simply go here on the parish website: https://www.olgseattle.org/stewardship-2
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Also, please  PUT NAMES IN EVERYTHING ! We are already accumulating quite a pile of lost clothing and accessories! Something missing? Check our LOST & FOUND at the office and during conferences. If they are not picked up by Nov 8th, they will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul. Thank you! Ms. Heidi

Parent Org News
Thank you to everyone who took a moment this week to tell us how much they enjoyed the Carnival - it's controlled chaos at best, but we hope your kids enjoyed a memorable evening of fun!

We had some WONDERFULLY HELPFUL volunteers this year as we battled some unexpected challenges - especially the wind! If you brought in a cake, worked the event, sat for the freezing cold Dunk Tank, or helped us set up or take down (especially those spent most of Saturday at the school with us - you know who you are), we are so very grateful!

Carnival Co-Chairs
SPRING INTO ACTION FOR THE 2020 SPRING FLING AUCTION
Seeking Co-Chair (don't stop, please read on)
Spring Fling preparations are well under way but we need help! We are still looking for the other half of our dynamic co-chair duo. Are you an organized and creative individual who is willing to oversee activities related to night of auction (food/drink, decorations, bidding opportunities, etc)? This is a great way to earn volunteer hours and have an impact on the success of the biggest fundraiser of the year. Remember the more hands the lighter the work. We do have other volunteer opportunities but the critical need right now is another co-chair. If interested in co-chairing, or getting involved in other ways please reach out to  [email protected]  We want to make sure we meet our goals. We can't do that without you.

Procurement and Item Deadline is December 6th, 2019
Procurement forms will go home in next week's FCE. This year the procurement team would prefer if families made a $200 donation to minimize volunteer resources and maximize auction item offerings.  Cash donations may be made by check or the OLG Events website at  www.olgevents.org .  Click on the Spring Fling flier on the right-hand side of the screen, log in and select auction procurement donation as the type of donation, enter the amount and complete the payment information.

Planning is starting for the 2020 Day of Service, coming up on March 28. Join our team and help set the theme, pick volunteer sites, and get the word out to the community! Our first meeting is Friday, November 1 after the 9am All Saints Mass (around 10:15am) in the Pastoral Center. Want to help but can’t make the meeting? We need people to research agencies, organize data, market, shop, and manage signups.  Information: Karen

Mass for Deceased Homeless

Why we Sought Asylum in the United States
Are you concerned about the asylum-seekers arriving at our southern border? Do you have questions about why and how they come, and what happens when they arrive? Are you curious about the legal process? OLG Immigrant Ministry invites you to meet two families seeking asylum in Seattle and the family sponsoring them on Sunday, November 17 after the 11am Mass in the Walmesley Center (food provided…children welcome)! Both families were separated from their children at the border; the adults deported while the children remained here in detention centers. Meet some of the people behind the stories, hear about their realities, and find out how to get involved.

OLG's annual Catholic Relief Services Ethical Trade Sale is coming up on Sunday, November 24 from 9:30am-1:00pm in the Walmesley Center - details. There will also be tasty treats sold by OLG students to benefit Westside Baby. Enjoy free Pura Vida coffee while you browse.  Information: Jennifer 206-935-0358 x120.
