Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

We Made it! Our Charleston Wrap fundraiser was a great success thanks to many volunteers, and all of you! And as I'm sure most of your children have told you by now, I began the day with a full beard but the highest participating class (2nd Grade) had a lot of fun decorating it this morning... and by the end of the day... well, that's another picture for later (or possibly Instagram, thank you Erin Stampe)! We raised well over our $8,000 goal and I'm very excited to work with the Parent Org on how to use those funds right away! Thank you all so much for your participation, it was excellent to see our community rally together so son this year. I hope you all celebrate well at Beers & Brats this weekend and I'll see you at Mass on Sunday for the 11am Catechetical Sunday blessing of our all the teachers in our community. You too are a the best teacher of your child, so you too are blessed!!

OLG School is hiring. I'm happy to announce we've hired two  EDC Staff and are working on more as we re-invigorate this well loved program. Also, the official job post for the full-time Development Director is open. Please share the news with qualified candidates!

As our mission statement is lived out together, we are one sacramental community, united and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Happy Spirit Day tomorrow!
Amazed constantly by the beauty of the holy spirit in all of us,

Anton Kramer

Beers & Brats starts Saturday at 2:00 pm!
Don your dirndls and lederhosen and come on down to the Walmesley Center patio on Saturday where we will eat, drink, and be merry: beer, wine, brats, polka, a soft-pretzel raffle with a rather ironic prize, mini-pumpkin carving, beer, lawn games, beer, a live DJ, and finally, beer. You can even buy and fill out Halloween Grams for your little darlings on-site a full week before the official sale starts! We kick off at 2:00 pm and we'll kick you out at 6:00 pm (hopefully before you try dancing to Tupac's verse in "California Love"). And remember: Uber is a good thing.

Forgot to order your tickets online? You can buy them at the door: $30 per admission/beer/brat + $8 per additional, OR a $50 wristband.
Carnival pre-sale and volunteer link are live!
Guess what folks? Carnival pre-sale wristbands and tickets will go on sale this week at   olgevents.org  through Oct. 21 – you can even pre-order your Halloween Grams online this year!

Halloween Grams:  For $1, you can write your children (or your children can send their friends) a sweet or festive message. The card and a Halloween surprise will be delivered to recipients during school hours on the Wednesday before the Carnival! Grams will be available for online purchase (minimum 5/$5) soon at olgevents.org , or in the front office ( cash only ) beginning Oct 14th. Sale ends Monday, Oct 21st

It's absolutely essential that we all work together to make our annual Halloween Carnival a success! Remember that seventh- and eighth-graders earn volunteer hours for taking a Carnival shift .

Back this year:   Trunk-or-Treat!  We're asking a family or group from each grade to decorate a car (bonus points for a vintage ride), fill the trunk with candy donated by your class, and park in a festive row for little Trick-or-Treaters to enjoy! It's a decorating competition, and the winning class will receive a very delicious and relaxing prize!

New this year:  a very cool, professionally lit, touch-screen selfie SnapBar that will send your costumed Carnival snaps directly to your phone or e-mail for sharing!

See you on Oct. 26 starting at 4 p.m.!

Auction Kick Off Meeting TONIGHT!
October 3rd at 6:30pm
The Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your help to meet our goal of raising $135,000!  It takes a village to run a school auction.  There will be opportunities big and small. If you are interested in being part of the auction planning team or supporting the auction in other ways please reach out to   olg.parent.org@gmail.com or join us at the Auction Kickoff Meeting at the Math Lab
B ox Tops
Clipped Box Tops are being collected in the month of October for fall turn-in. Please turn them in at the school or in the container in the church library. - CLIP IT

NEW! The Box Tops for Education Program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school. Participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. We will continue to earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until the expiration date printed on the label. PLUS, earn digitally by scanning your receipt containing participating products. - SCAN
Ideally, we can " double dip" during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops  AND scanning store receipts containing participating products. Watch a video to learn more or contact Erin Pedras with questions. Thank you for helping our school get new recess equipment!

Can you help us build a new garden shed?
Our parish received a Rice Bowl grant to build a new garden shed for our Parish Peace Garden (which raises food for our local food bank). We need to use these funds in the next few weeks  before the winter weather sets in ! We need volunteers to not only help design it (slightly taller than what we currently have), but also build it. Qualifies for volunteer hours! Contact Helen, 206-935-0358
