Dear St. Alphonsus Families,
Happy Monday! We hope you had a great weekend! The fall temps are settling in, so take some time now to take stock of your winter gear. Some of the hats & mittens were already out today, so it's a great time to check in with what your student might need as the temperatures drop.
Thank you for your enthusiastic support of the Glow Run!! A great time was had by both students and staff. We are so close to meeting our goal; please check out the details of extended pledging below. Thank you for your support of our school, and a special thank you to our Glow Run chairs, Olivia Hartley, Erica Scherbarth, and Anni Guerrero, who make this event happen. We are so appreciative! Mrs. Schermetzler will be sharing more photos of the Glow Run on social media this week.
This is the last week to sign up for a trunk at Trunk or Treat! Please scroll down for the sign-up link and remember that everyone handing out candy must be safeguarded.
Some sad news to share. Mrs. Rublis' mother passed away late last week. Her service was this morning. To help remember her and share in Mrs. Rublis' grief, we will be having some masses said for her mother. These will be on the following days: November 1, November 13, December 18, December 22, and October 9, 2025, in case you wish to attend and offer your prayers.
With that, we wish you a great week! As a reminder, you can always find an archive of our school newsletters on our website here. This is the first stop for you for information about what's going on at school!
Best regards,
Ms. Parey, Principal
Mrs. Schermetzler & Mrs. Bruhn, Leadership Team

Thank you for your enthusiastic support of the Glow Run!
St. Alphonsus School’s Glow Run was a great success! Our students did a stellar job and had a fantastic time. They greatly appreciated the energy added by all who came out to cheer them on! St. Alphonsus families did outstanding work and raised over $19,200 for our school! Wow!
We are so close to reaching our $20,000 goal that we have decided to keep pledging open until Wednesday, October 16th. If you or someone you know wanted to make a donation, but just never got around to it, there’s still time!
Thanks again to our St. Alphonsus School community for making this Glow Run so successful!
Thank you to our amazing Glow Run sponsors!

Why SCRIP (RaiseRight) Makes $en$e!
A testimonial from a grandparent:
We have been using SCRIP to support our grandchildren's Catholic school education since our first granddaughter was in kindergarten and now she's in grad school! At first, we only bought grocery and gas cards. After discovering how easy it was, we started buying from other retailers. Now that there is an App and reloadable gift cards, it's rare to buy something without using SCRIP.
SCRIP is so easy to use and the bonus days are especially nice when you earn so many extra SCRIP dollars for the school. The older grandchildren appreciate the Starbucks and Kwik Trip gift cards, and even the younger grandchildren are requesting gift cards now. SCRIP is so simple, and the benefits for the school are so great. A little SCRIP here and a little SCRIP there add up to a big benefit for your family and the school. Besides, who doesn't like getting a gift card?
Stop at the SCRIP table at church and chat with us, or check out these videos for How to Get Started:

Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Schermetzler, Writer of This Newsletter | |
Welcome to Staff Spotlight!
Each week we will be highlighting a member of our staff so you can get to know them better. This week we are featuring...me! Mrs. Schermetzler.
My actual title is Librarian and Marketing & Special Events Manager, but some may call me St. Al's biggest cheerleader (har, har). I am also a member of the Leadership Team! My two sons also attend school here and when I am not doing all things St. Al's, I love reading (obviously) but also knitting and crafting and watching true crime documentaries. I live very close to school (just two blocks away), so you will often see me walking to and from each morning and afternoon!
I love the students and families at St. Al's and enjoy seeing & chatting with all of you on a regular basis!

Spooky season is officially here! This is the LAST WEEK to sign up to host a trunk for our third annual Trunk or Treat, on Friday, October 25th from 6:00-7:00pm!
Whether you host a trunk or not, all are welcome! If you are just attending with your children, you do not need to be safeguarded. Safeguarding is only required for those passing out treats.
It will be a safe, free, and family-friendly event with lots of fun activities:
- Costume parade to kick off the trunk or treating!
- Vote for your favorite pumpkin (carved by the teachers and staff of St. Alphonsus)
- Vote for your favorite trunk! The 3 trunks with the most votes will win a prize.
- Favorite trunk winners will be announced at approximately 7:00pm
Time is running out to sign up to host a trunk! Please consider hosting a trunk to make this event a huge success!
Please sign up here by Wednesday, October 16. All those hosting a trunk must be safeguarded and signed up by Oct. 16. Please include the names of any adults handing out treats at your vehicle.
For questions, please contact Dawn Eisold or Tricia Williams, our Trunk or Treat chairs.

St. Al's Trivia Night returns!
Our beloved Parish Trivia Night is back! Join us for an evening of fun with your fellow parishioners in the St. Alphonsus Community Room.
Saturday night is "sold out" but we have plenty of seating available for Friday night, November 22! Gather your table of 8-10 people and vie for the "coveted" St. Al's Trivia Night trophy.
We are raising funds for our incredible Food Pantry. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. The cost to participate remains $10 per person. Call Vickie Major to reserve your spot at 414-704-0526.

The St. Alphonsus Grand Raffle has returned!
If you'd like the chance to win $15,000 now's the time. 1 in 10 people will at least double their money with the opportunity for even more.
If you're interested in supporting St. Alphonsus, there are three ways to get your raffle tickets:
- Pick them up from the raffle table (feel free to take as many tickets as you would like) after any Mass
- Stop by the parish office and pick the up from our receptionist
-
E-mail the parish here and we will make arrangements to personally deliver them to you
The tickets can then be returned in the same three ways.
Remember, you don’t have to buy them all yourself, and for this raffle to be a success we’ll need your help selling them to friends, family members and co-workers. The proceeds of the raffle will go directly to St. Alphonsus’ operational budget that helps us be the thriving parish and school we are.
Please support this fundraiser as it will help us achieve a balanced budget this fiscal year--thank you!
