Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Here we are in our second week of school and things are rolling along! Tonight is our Middle School curriculum nightadn our group session at 6:30pm is full of new info regarding our middle school programs! We are all the Many parts of the One Body of OLG and I look forward to seeing you there!

Read on for links to the oder form for our school picture day (9/19), for more info and links to add to the papers that was sent home today in your monthly Family Communication Envelope (FCE), and for more on exciting offerings from the Parent Organization and our fabulous Parish.

Finally I want to take a moment to share a special "Thank You" for the Knights of Columbus for their fantastic Pancake Breakfasts that are helping us replace the old leaky broken coffee makers in the Parish/School Hall. Having a new integrated system with the Walmesly Center kitchen makes for quite an upgrade for our parish and school events! Your support of Parent Org (PO) and our school fundraisers provides the other half of the cost to upgrade these old machines. Thank you to Michelle Scheving and all the PO leadership for your work getting this upgrade going. All parents & gaurdians are welcome to attend our next PO meeting on Tuesday night. Thanks for a great start to the school year!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Recess Monitors Needed
Play is “serious business!” It is a key component for a child’s healthy development. It’s also their “job,” one way of learning about the world, and how they fit in.

If you’re interested in keeping our students safe, earning commitment hours , getting to know the children, other parents, and perhaps seeing your own child at play, please consider recess monitoring. It’s an important and wonderful way to support our school community! Please contact Ms. Heidi (206) 935-6051 Ex. 114

  • Morning Recess 10:00-10:30 am
  • Afternoon recess 11:30am-12:30 pm

Sharing the Journey
I recently quizzed several OLG graduates about their very first day of school, as kindergarteners.--- “ I remember not wanting to let go of my dad’s hand. I finally did when I saw my friend from pre-school.” Another student said,” I looked at my mom standing in the doorway smiling. She was smiling but kind of sad too. I walked away and went over to some girls playing with the dollhouse. When I turned to look back, my mom was gone. But I felt safe because Ms. Zbaracki was nice.” Another student shared, “ I remember thinking how cool I was in the OLG uniform. I was getting to be more like my big brother.” If I could talk to the parents of those students, what would their impressions be of that first day? Were they anxious as they dropped their child off? Would they say it seems like long ago, or just yesterday…? Continue Reading

"Lettuce Pray" has returned to OLG. If you're a home gardener, here's all you need to do to participate: On Sunday morning, step out into your garden and pick what's fresh, bring it to church, and put it in the Lettuce Pray box in the narthex. If you don’t garden, you can also buy fresh produce and donate it.
