Principal's Letter
Greetings!

Tomorrow is our last day for the Fall Fundraiser for prizes! Will we get to that  $8,000 fundraising goal for Mr. Kramer to "Shave that Beard"?

Online reports show we've got about $6,000 raised last night... TOMORROW is the last day (Sept. 27th). Bring in all your paperwork... the online sales will get added to all the paper sales turned in... we are so close!

OLG School is hiring. I'm happy to announce we've hired two  EDC Staff and are working on a third. The official job post for the full-time Development Director is up for sharing as well now. Please share the news with qualified candidates!

I'm looking forward to our upcoming first weekend in October! Spirit Wear on October 4th, I should hopefully have a shorter beard, and also our  Many parts join together on Saturday afternoon for  Beers & Brats and Sunday @11am for our special blessing of all teachers (and all parents & guardians) who are all catechesis (teachers) in our  One Body of OLG. I look forward to seeing you there!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Charleston Wrap – Our Fall Fundraiser!!!

Final chance to help us reach our fundraising goal!
Forms are due TOMORROW (9/27) for prizes and paper orders!

Beers & Brats is just NINE days away...
...and the pre-sale ticketing window closes this Wednesday, October 2 at 5:00 pm. (That's six days from now, for anyone who's bad at math). If you're a proud procrastinator, rest assured your honor is intact as you've waited until the last week! Don't pay more at the door – order online at  olgevents.org .

The volunteer signup for Beers & Brats is COMPLETELY FULL and word is Bavarian-themed costumes are going to be hot this year. If you have a cornhole game we can borrow and you haven't reached out yet, e-mail Hilary Reeves . Excited!
And Carnival prep is slowly building...
Once we're all recovered from the epic party that is Beers & Brats, it will be time to focus on our  children's  happiness in the form of the 2019 Halloween Carnival. We want to fill our Carnival volunteer roster to capacity as well, including a themed Trunk-or-Treat car for every class, PS-8th. This is an all-hands-on-deck event: set-up and clean-up are massive undertakings, plus money handling, ticket-taking, dunk tank volunteers, contest judges, cake procurers – we need YOU! Sixth- and seventh-grade volunteers earn hours for volunteering! The signup will debut no later than Oct. 7!

P.S. The SnapBar is a GO! Can't wait to take selfies with all of you! * -Hil
Auction Kick Off Meeting
October 3rd at 6:30pm
The Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your help to meet our goal of raising $135,000!  It takes a village to run a school auction.  There will be opportunities big and small. If you are interested in being part of the auction planning team or supporting the auction in other ways please reach out to   [email protected] or join us at the Auction Kickoff Meeting on October 3rd at 6:30 pm at the school
B ox Tops
Clipped Box Tops are being collected in the month of October for fall turn-in. Please turn them in at the school or in the container in the church library. - CLIP IT

NEW! The Box Tops for Education Program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school. Participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. We will continue to earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until the expiration date printed on the label. PLUS, earn digitally by scanning your receipt containing participating products. - SCAN IT
Ideally, we can " double dip" during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops  AND scanning store receipts containing participating products.

Watch a video to learn more or contact Erin Pedras with questions. Thank you for helping our school get new recess equipment!
FCE Stuffing Parties  – Can you help us in the office once a month? We would appreciate your help getting the FCE (Family Communication Envelopes) ready to distribute each month.   Sign up here

What's new on our parish website?
Our website is undergoing an upgrade and we would like to know what you think? We are also hoping to get Fr. Kevin’s homilies back on the website soon. Thank you for your patience!   www.olgseattle.org

Can you help us build a new garden shed?
Our parish received a Rice Bowl grant to build a new garden shed for our Parish Peace Garden (which raises food for our local food bank). We need to use these funds in the next few weeks  before the winter weather sets in We need volunteers to not only help design it (slightly taller than what we currently have), but also build it. Qualifies for volunteer hours! Contact Helen , 206-935-0358

Caring for God's Creation
When eating at a buffet restaurant, or even at coffee and doughnuts after Mass on Sunday, you can help conserve natural resources and reduce waste by taking just one plate, one napkin and only the utensils you need. Encourage others to do the same.     For more information  www.olgseattle.org/caring-for-creation

Are you interested in being an altar server? Children 4 th  grade and older, and adults are invited to attend one of the two upcoming trainings: Monday, October 21,   3:15-4:15 pm, or Saturday, October 26, 10:00-11:00 am, in the church. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together. Information Helen Oesterle 206-935-0358.
