Principal's Letter
Dear OLG Families,

Our first week of school is almost complete! We have enjoyed seeing all our newest Preschoolers and our Pre-K classes in session, as well as so many K-8 families checking-in with teachers and having orientations this week. Many students have come in the school doors with apprehension, but are walking out eager to get going with many smiles! Note the picture... wearing school uniforms is sure to help your child be "school ready"!

Either in person or on zoom, we are looking forward to being back together. Tuesday will feel a little different as we start our first day of K-8 academic classes. We have made some "First Day of..." signs for your home use (click here to download). We are with you! Feel free to share your first day pics on social media with #OLGSTRONG

Also coming next week we will have OLG Face masks available for every student (with extras for sale supporting our Parent Org)!

Finally, a little note on Jog-A-Thon: Super Kudos to our Volunteer Chairs, Lissa & Linda, for their great setup for our first Fall Jogathon, and doing it virtually! We've already passed our first $1,000 in donations with more rolling in. Read on for how to participate in CYO Cross Country & Jog-A-Thon at the same time!!!
Yours in Christ,

Anton Kramer

Get Active with Jog-A-Thon
The Fall Jog-A-Thon is real!
Between the dates of September 1st and 25th at a time that works best for your family, we’re asking students to get out and be active for 60 minutes. Any fun activity that gets their bodies moving counts!  You can even double-up with CYO Cross Country! Shoot hoops, play hopscotch, jog around the block, throw the frisbee, take your four-legged friend for a walk… you get the idea.
Be sure to take pictures or video of the activity and send it in to us here to be included in our wrap up video and considered for prizes.
Because the event looks a little different this year, we’re asking families to reach out to friends, family and neighbors for donations instead of pledges.  If each student can raise $150 in donations, we can hit our GOAL!

CYO News
Hello Bulldog families!
As expected CYO pushed off K-3rd grade soccer to the Spring Season (April/May). They also, unfortunately, cancelled the 4th-8th grade season as Spring will conflict with the volleyball and track seasons for those grades.

Cross Country has been moved to a virtual season! Dan Womac will be our head coach (Thanks Dan!) and it will be an awesome opportunity to get our kids some physical activity in the world of Zoom. Parents will post times for their kids during a meet period (a 5 day window). Each participant will get a t-shirt from CYO for participating and the enrollment fee will just be $15 (to cover the shirt)! Our first meet is Sept 15th to 20th so jog on over to the link below! You can also use your practice or second meet time to count towards the Jog-A-Thon!

Let's Enroll Bulldogs!

Awards from CYO:
  1. The largest teams based on participation.
  2. The largest teams as a percentage compared to the enrollment at their associated school.
  3. Spirit award to the most creative teams, posting on social media, and celebrating the participation of the athletes and families – using #CYOteam20 (The use of the hashtag will help CYO track the engagement on social media).
