Summer Solstice AND

How to Make the Most of It

Tomorrow, June 22, 2019 at 12 noon EDT in Tampa, Florida the Sun moves into the sign of Cancer. This is better known as the Summer Solstice when we experience the official beginning of Summer and the longest day of the year. The Northern Hemisphere receives more daylight than any other day of the year on the summer solstice. This day marks the start of astronomical summer and the tipping point at which days start to become shorter and nights longer. It has been celebrated for hundreds of years by creating blazing bonfires to attract the Sun’s light and energy. We may also celebrate the inner spiritual Soul light burning within us.

 

Take a look at the astrological chart . There are two planets, Mercury and Mars, in addition to the Sun, plus the North Node in the sign of Cancer. Now there is more to acknowledge and handle and ultimately celebrate. Let’s take a look at the Mercury Mars conjunction in Cancer which will be in effect until June 27, 2019. Mars in Cancer seems oxymoronic – Mars rules assertion, action and expressive anger while Mercury symbolizes all manner of communication. Together in Cancer this transit might manifest itself in the following ways. (The issues that might arise are directly connected to your astrological chart. Send me the date, time and place of your birth and I will send you your house placement and what that house means.)

 

Use this time to learn how to protect yourself from your own emotional sensitivity. Learning personal boundaries, like when to say no, or when not to need being needed, will help. When you’re too caught up in your emotions, looking at situations from a practical and earthy perspective will also help. Being organized and structured will keep you more centered in reality and less emotional. Be realistic and discriminating about how much you need to bring past experiences into the present.

UPCOMING EVENT...Mercury Retrograde in Leo

Mercury will go retrograde on July 8 ^th and continue until August 1 ^st in the sign of Leo. I believe this aspect is an opportunity to Review, Reflect and Resolve the road already traveled. We are on that road right now. Perhaps we can be more conscious and thoughtful about our manner of communication and transportation until July 8 so the retrograde will not be as challenging as it can be. Question:  Hello Linda. I've read your books and newsletters and am still confused about how to know what illusions I need to destroy. I know with the Pluto and Saturn conjunction in Capricorn I should be doing that. I am a Capricorn!

Answer: Dear Capricorn...believe me I know how hard this is. Easy to say and easier to write but the reality is quite a different story. I suggest you read my chapter on Neptune and how you have been taught the illusions from your parents, teachers, etc. Then ask your Soul each night for information from your dreams through your unconscious mind that will help you uncover those illusions. What I know is my illusions are what have kept me unhappy, unfulfilled and frustrated. I have had a weight issue my whole life and believed (illusion) that the only way to have a happy relationship was for me to be thin. Correction: I have been married to my soul mate for thirty- nine years and for many years of that marriage I was one hundred pounds overweight. That illusion is dead.
