IMPACTING HOMES

This year, we made a profound difference in hundreds of families' lives by installing 610 smoke-free stoves and water filters.

None of this would have been possible without your support! Whether you volunteered, donated, or shared our mission, you have been a part of every milestone. Together, we’re transforming lives—one home at a time.

GUATEMALAN TRADITIONS

Guatemalan Christmas traditions are vibrant and deeply rooted in cultural heritage, blending indigenous and Spanish influences. Celebrations begin in early December with "Las Posadas," reenacting Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter, accompanied by processions, prayers, and festive gatherings. Homes and churches glow with colorful lights, nativity scenes, and beautifully decorated Christmas trees adorned with ornaments, lights, and traditional motifs. Fireworks light up the skies on Christmas Eve, adding to the festive atmosphere. A cherished culinary tradition is preparing and sharing tamales made with corn dough and various fillings, symbolizing love and unity. At midnight on December 24th, families come together for "Noche Buena," exchanging gifts, enjoying a festive meal, and embracing the joy of the holiday season.

LET'S COOK

As we celebrate these accomplishments, we also want to share a piece of Guatemalan culture. In Guatemala, making Tamales Colorados is more than just preparing a meal—it’s a cherished tradition that brings families together. These special dishes are often made during Christmas and other holidays, with every family member playing a role in the process, from preparing the dough to wrapping them in banana leaves.

It’s a time to share stories, laughter, and love while creating something delicious to enjoy together.

Curious to try this cherished tradition? We’re sharing a recipe so you can bring the taste of Guatemala to your table!

Give this recipe and share it on social media, we would love to see your creations.
