The 13th Annual MIT Chief Data Officer &
Information Quality Symposium
July 31 - August 2, 2019
Symposium Team Announces Sports Panel
Score amazing data strategies by learning from the best in Baseball, Football, Hockey and Soccer professional sports. Whether hearing about ‘player statistics’ and how to money ball your way into a team of winners, you will be inspired by the GAME these data experts play. You will learn how to drive revenue using the treasures of data discovered right under your
home plate, and hit a home run. We have the Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Cubs, FC Cincinnati, and Boston Bruins on tap like a good beer at a sports bar, to enlighten you to support your home team. They will discuss about their roles in data, and how data moved from being a statistic on a piece of paper, to a gamer changer that wins games and makes money.

A Discussion of Data Governance
In Spring 2019, the MIT CDOIQ-iCDO Data Policy & Data Governance project conducted a survey. We are interested in how organizations establish Data Policy and Data Governance practices.

To date, we have received 95 responses, and we continue to solicit input. We would appreciate organizations in the public and private sector to participate if they have not already done so.

An exploratory review of the responses is available here
We look forward to your contributions to this project!

TESTIMONIAL

I found that participating in the CDO-1 Course provided additional insights into the work I do daily on the City's Open Data and Performance team. It provided a place to network with others in both the public and private sector who are working on data standards, process improvement and data-driven decision making. Having access to others doing this important work is invaluable.
