A WORD FROM HILARY

Happy Easter Friends! Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!

What a beautiful time to live in Northeast Georgia Presbytery! We gather next month in Monticello for fun, conversation and business around tables in their lovely fellowship hall. I am looking forward to seeing you and greeting a new minister member and a new inquirer to ministry. The folks who took the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center training, who are calling themselves "Practical Peacemaking Partners" will have some pop-ups (short informational skits); and worship will be woven within our business items. We hope to adjourn by early afternoon.

I am so pleased with the result of the search for our next Synod Executive, Rev. Joyce Lieberman, and am grateful to the Rev. Frank Colladay who served on the search committee. Joyce will follow our friend Heahwan Rim who is retiring at the end of June. We are thankful for his service and partnership and we keep him in our prayers. Joyce comes from the denomination's office in Louisville and has a wealth of experience and wisdom to share.

I want to express my appreciation to the staff of Northeast Georgia Presbytery, and share with you that Travis' son Carter will be married this weekend in New York. Linda and Anita are wonderful to work with, and we celebrated Administrative Professionals' Day earlier this week. Please be on the lookout for an invitation for all administrative personnel in our church offices to come to Athens on Tuesday, August 1, for an ice cream social and activities. I hope you will encourage your office workers to attend to help build another support network among our presbytery's churches.

Prayer Concerns and Celebrations

Continue to remember Rev. Heahwan Rim, Synod Executive, as he continues his treatment for Leukemia, and as he plans for his upcoming retirement.

Also pray for Rev. Joyce Lieberman, our new Synod Executive, as she transitions into her new position.
