New Beginnings Are a Gift From God
August 27th, 2020

Dear Parents,

These certainly have been challenging times but the Holy Spirit is leading us through it. As our school motto states: “Faith Centered-Future Focused.”  Truly our faith will be our strength and hope as we move into the future, trusting in Divine Providence to take care of us.

I would like to share with you our plans for our weekly Mass with the school community. Keeping in mind that the safety of our students and faculty is of the utmost importance, and adhering to social distancing guidelines, this is what we will be doing:

  1. The student body will be divided so that Grades 1,2,6,7 and 8 will be attending Mass on Wednesday mornings. Students in Grades 3, 4 & 5 will attend Mass on Friday mornings.
  2. There will be no music at Mass since we cannot use hymnals, no Mass servers, or procession of the gifts. Students will serve as lectors.
  3. Since we will need the entire lower level to provide the required space for all the students, no other people will be able to join us for Mass. This is, once again, for the safety of our school community.

I look forward to this new academic year confident that St. Joseph is watching over us as our special protector. As he faithfully protected the Holy Family that was entrusted to his care, he will do the same for us who have been placed under his patronage.
St. Joseph, pray for us.

                                                                                   In the Heart of Christ,

                                                                             Father Dennis

Dear Parents and Students,

I will not be able to join you as the school year begins. Please know that I will be available at You are welcome to contact me while I am away.

Currently, I am taking a medication for an autoimmune condition. This medication suppresses my immune system. This along with my age has led my physician to advise me not to return to school until I complete the full treatment.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Karen Lengell
School Counselor
All students are required to wear a face mask during school and have at least one back-up mask in their backpack.

If you can see through your mask or blow out a candle through your mask, it is not effective. If your child wears one of these masks to school, he/she will be given a mask from school and you will be required to supply an appropriate mask.

If you have concerns with the mask(s) you purchased,
please talk to your child's teacher.

Thanks for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe at St. Joe's!
