If you haven’t seen the latest job numbers, let me tell you, they’re bad. The whole reason to mess with tariffs is to increase production in America, but you can’t do that until you’ve established manufacturing capacity IN America and Trump hasn’t done that. Manufacturing jobs are cratering. Manufacturing purchases, spending, and construction are all way down. The only sector that’s seeing any growth is health care. Which the Republican budget cuts will decimate next year.

Oh, and Ohio’s unemployment rate is still 44th in the nation.

But instead of tackling any of these issues-- Republicans are busy worrying about drawing new lines in Texas (and not fixing their flood infrastructure), hiding the truth about Jeffrey Epstein, and blaming everyone but themselves for their own screwups.

Meanwhile in Cleveland, Democratic Mayor Justin Bibb this week announced a 21% pay increase for Cleveland firefighters. (Watch here) Not only because they deserve it (and as the son of a retired Cleveland firefighter, I can tell you they do) but because these are the people who should be getting more money in their hands: the middle and working class, not the wealthy elites.

So, the best thing you can do right now is go to boe.cuyahogacounty.gov, request your mail-in ballot, and vote Democratic this Fall.
