Welcome to Week 2 of the Summer Share 2017!

Last week, it was so great to see a lot of familiar faces and a whole bunch of new people at the stops. Our Packers and Greeters are working their tails off to give you not only a delicious bag heaped full of locally-grown foods, but a fun experience. If you're not familiar with a particular food--something coming in your share or something for sale out on display-- just ask! They'd love to tell you about the different products we have for sale, swap recipes and hear about your favorites. 

This week, we have lots of our delicious Guernsey Milk & Yogurt for sale-- whip up some green smoothies or maybe some granola parfaits? 

  "Guernsey cows are renowned for their quality of milk. Old timers and artisan cheese-houses love them. They don’t produce as much milk as modern Holsteins, but the milk they do produce is rich in butterfat and protein.  As mentioned above, this product is a “true whole milk.” This means that it is whatever butterfat comes out of the cow. Most whole milks are actually a calculated formula of fat, usually around 3.25%. You are probably scratching your head asking why....."

You'll all be getting some broccoli, another quart of strawberries, garlic scapes (try our simple Garlic Scape Pesto), kohlrabi, collard greens and a bag of young leaf spinach. The Omnivore bags will get a pack of two pork chops and a pound of our grass-fed ground beef, and everyone else (Large Omnivores, and all Vegetarians and Vegans) will get two balls of our Pizza Dough* and a pint of our tomato sauce. The Large Subscribers will also get some mozzarella cheese to shred on top. 

If you've never made pizza at home, it's a cinch! Click here for our Pizza Guide with complete instructions on how to roll out, top and bake the pies. But if you don't get to that, here are the basics:

  • Let thaw in fridge (it thaws quickly)
  • Let rise till doubled on countertop (about half hour)
  • Get oven or grill REALLY hot (450-500)
  • Roll dough out flat, top sparingly with ingredients (start w/ sauce)
  • Bake 8-10 minutes on a pre-heated pizza stone or cookie sheet sprinkled with cornmeal

The pizza dough contains whole wheat flour, yeast, kosher salt, sunflower oil, water & honey (*honey-free vegans & gluten-free members, we will have a substitute available for you listed at your stop.) We have collected a ton of delicious looking pizza recipes online ( click here to see our whole Pinterest board devoted to Pizza) so be sure to post your creations online and tag us!

And speaking of recipes-- if you ever find a mistake in one of our recipes online, or you've made a delicious tweak, please leave a comment. Those are entirely for you all, so we want them to be the best possible.

REMINDERS
We got approved for our new Downtown Location: Perk Plaza!

We just heard from the city that our application to have our Downtown Stop at Perk Plaza (Chester & East 12th) has been approved! We will be parked on E 12th between Walnut & Chester by the red awnings. It's only about 2 blocks West of the current location at Playhouse Square, but now we'll be on a beautiful park with better access for all of our Downtown members.

You can buy credits with cash or check to avoid the credit card processing fee. 

Many of you like to pay with cash or check to avoid the credit card processing fee, but if you place a Special Order online you need to pay with credits or credit card.

However, you can load up your account with credits purchased with cash or check and skip the fee: either pay at your stop or mail in a check (3800 Woodland Avenue, Cleveland OH 44115). Please write the email address associated with your account and "For FFM Credits" on the memo line. If you pay with cash at the stop, please ask your Greeter for a reciept.


June Monthly Payment due this week.  

If you're on the Monthly Payment Plan or still need to pay for the Full Upfront cost of the share, you should getting a payment reminder email soon! Please follow the guidelines in that email for making your payment at your earliest convenience.

If you only just signed up, we know these first two payments are close together. If you need to scootch the dates to fit your budget, just reply to the payment reminder email or give us a call ( 800-861-8582 ) and we'd be happy to help.

We still have some room for more members, so if you're reading this newsletter but you're not a member yet, please join us! Also, you can always buy a double up (a second share bag) and give it to a friend who you think might dig our food.
