Hi there!
It's Week 22, and time to say goodbye to the Summer Share 2017. It was a long and tasty summer, filled with hundreds of different locally grown items. Not to mention all the eggs, meats and cheeses and valued added items you had in your shares, we dished out thousands of locally grown:
Spaghetti Squash, Red Onion, Cauliflower, Carrots, Brussels sprouts, Cantaloupe , Broccoli, Turnips, Bunching Onions, Sweet Corn, Dried Beans , Cherries, Acorn Squash, Red Potatoes, Butternut Squash, Plums, Kohlrabi, Leeks, Strawberries, Spelt Berries, Beets, Sweet Potatoes, Candy Onion, Blueberries, Eggplant, Sauerkraut, Concord grapes, Asparagus, Watermelon, Slicing Tomatoes, Garlic Scapes, Roma Tomatoes, Longhorn Peppers, Golden Beets, Blackberries, Radishes, Colorful Sweet Peppers, Delicata Squash, Heirloom Tomatoes, Black Raspberries, Yukon Gold Potatoes, Garlic, Yellow Beans, Kale, Onion, Celeriac, Collard Greens, Romaine Lettuce, Purple Beans, Lettuce, Cucumbers, Snap Peas, Peaches, Red Bell Peppers, Apples, Green Peppers, Green Onions, Hot Hungarian Peppers, Grape Tomatoes, Zucchini, Bok Choy, Heirloom Summer Squash, Swiss Chard, Red leaf lettuce, Seedless Reliance Grapes, Green Cabbage, Spinach, Green Beans, Cherry Tomatoes, Red Russian Kale, Parsley, Rhubarb, Basil, and Pears.
We know you have a lot of options out there for how to get your food these days, and we're so happy you choose to join the Fork. Your support has put more than two million dollars into the hands of our local farming community this summer.
And even though the Summer Share is over, you don't have to spend the next 6 months without your share!
The Winter Share
starts up right away next week and there is still time to sign up. You can
sign up
online, or you can give us a call in the office (

Cutting squash can be tricky so be careful: we don't want you to end up on the list of people at the ER with squash-cutting-related injuries!
Another helpful tip: roast your squash whole to soften slightly first, the slice into it and continue with recipe.

Only Winter Share customers can buy stuff from the trucks starting next week.
Only people with current Winter Accounts can come to the trucks to buy extras. It's not because we don't love you, it's just part of the subscription agreement-- we get your commitment at the beginning of the season, and then for the whole season we give you access to the best locally-grown food we can find. If we show up without enough food for you because we have sold it to people who weren't members, we wouldn't be holding up our end of the bargain.
But if you've never done the Winter Share, it's really a lot of fun. The bags for the month of November come one right after another, and they're nice and big. After the holidays begin, we go every other week, and you'll get a little more time with each bag before you pick up the next.

Email issues.
We're really sorry to all of you @yahoo.com email users out there, but we have been having some trouble with our email lately and many of you are getting your messages bounced back as undeliverable. Believe us, it's super frustrating on our end, too!
We are still trying to figure out the source of the problem and none of our fixes have worked yet. If you're experiencing email issues, please just call us in the office (
800-861-8582
) and leave a voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
No "on account" purchases at the stop.
It's the last week of the share, and we need to tie up all accounts. Use up your credits by buying at the truck and/or by placing a Special Order before Tuesday at midnight (I set a weekly alarm on my phone for Tuesday at 8pm, "Reminder: Place Special Order!" so I don't forget). If you are all out of credits, bring some cash or a check to sneak in your favorites.
Lots of new Ohio City Provisions meats available online for purchase.
We have loads of new sausages, lunch meats and other tasty meats from Ohio City Provisions up online to purchase- time to stock up! Here is a just a snippet of all the delicious new products available for purchase:
- Currywurst, $11. A german classic brat with curry powder. Our take on it replaces fat with whipping cream to make a more moist, plump sausage.
- Bacon Cheeseburger Brats, $12. This is probably the most difficult sausage for us to make. We made them to imitate a burger basted in butter with aromatics like garlic, rosemary, and thyme. This burger has sweated candy onions, butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, fresh cracked black pepper, and smoked cheddar cheese. Cook to medium, just like a burger, and enjoy.
- Rockin' Ron Spicy Pork Brats, $10. Named after Trevor's dad who loves spicy food, these brats are made with Ron's signature pepper flakes - also referred to as death dust. The heat is balanced with mustard, paprika, onion and garlic, and would be considered a medium hot bratwurst. This is a fresh (uncooked) sausage.
- Caribbean Jerk Sausage, $10. All pork with hand cut habaneros for a hint of spice. Sweet and spicy in a traditional jerk fashion. A fresh sausage that should be cooked low and slow to maintain moisture. Excellent with beans, rice, sweet potatoes or winter squash.
Limited quantities of all OCP meats.

Salmon & Cod deliveries this week.
Everyone who is getting salmon and cod should have received a pick up ticket. If you didn't but you thought you ordered some, please give us a call
800-861-8582
so we can double check your order.
If you ordered salmon and your pick up is Wednesday or Thursday (or you requested a Week 22 pick up instead), your salmon will be coming this week. Cod will all be delivered this week.
Please either print your pick up ticket out and bring it with you to the stop or pull it up on your phone. Your fish is only available at the stop you requested, so please go to that stop listed on your pick up ticket.
Any leftover salmon or cod will be available for purchase in the next few weeks for the Winter Share.
