Welcome to Spring!!! It's time for Week 12 of your Winter Share, and we're headed into the last straightaway of the season-- some chilly temperatures this week, but we'll be saying hello to ramps, asparagus and strawberries before you know it.

There are just four share weeks left in this season (including this week) before we get to the Summer Share , which begins on Wednesday, May 30th. If you know anyone who wants to join us for the rest of this share, they can start whenever and we'll pro-rate their subscription. Send them here to get started.

Spring is here at the farm, too! Piglets and peeps are filling up their barns (the pig barn and peep house, respectively), where they'll start their lives with lots of warmth, as well as plenty to eat and drink. Once they're a little bigger and stronger and the weather warms up, they'll move outside to forage in the grasses and roam around in the fresh air and sunshine.
This week's bag has some hearty ingredients; perfect for stick-to-your-ribs dinners. Everyone will get a quart of frozen sweet corn, two pounds of red & blue potatoes, and a bunch of beets. You'll also get a quart of our fermented raw sauerkraut (store in fridge and crack the lid occasionally to release pressure), a quart of our canned peaches in honey, a head of lettuce and a pint of frozen blackberries.

The Omnivore shares will be getting a pork roast (appx. 2#) and quart of our Rich Winter Stock from Ohio City Provisions. The Vegetarian shares will get a 2# roll of butter (Hartzler's), as well as a loaf of whole wheat bread and a pint of apple butter, both from Wholesome Valley Farm. And last but not least, a bunch of spinach from Green City Growers.

A few housekeeping reminders from the office:

  1. If you have a vacation credit to spend, don't forget to use it! Vacation credits reduce by half after 30 days if you haven't touched it. You only need to spend a part of it to keep the full value for the rest of the reason.
  2. If you have a vacation coming up, please schedule it. If you need a reminder on how to do that, please click here.
  3. If you have a balance due on your account, bring some extra cash or a check to your stop this week to settle up.
  4. Please bring back any bags! We're running dangerously low at the warehouse, and we won't be getting our new summer shipment in for a few more weeks.

It's a meat party! We have tons of different meats in stock right now-- beef sirloin roasts ( $7/lb), ground turkey ( $7/lb), whole ducks ( $33), deli meats ( $7-$8/lb), kielbasa ( $9-$10), chicken patties and wings ( $6-$7) and so much more.
