We made it, everyone. We are in the last week of the Winter Share and it's finally May! The weather this week feels like a gift after this long cold spring-- so get outside and have a picnic with this delicious last bag we've put together for you.

Thank you again for making the Winter Share at Fresh Fork Market possible. We've had a wonderful season with you all-- our Winter Members are our core group of Forkers who we get to know really well over these cold months-- and we're looking forward to seeing you all in a few short weeks for summer!

Now that it's the end of the season, we have a few important housekeeping notes to go over:

  • If you have a balance due on your account, please pay it this week. Also, all Winter Credits must be spent this week (they don't move over to summer)- so place a Special Order and go shopping!

  • Please bring back all the bags you may or may not have been keeping in your car/basement/laundry room.

  • We take three weeks off (between Sunday May 6th-Sunday May 26th) to get ready for summer-- fix our trucks, train new staff, & get everything in shape. If you need to buy any of your staples during that time, please head over to Ohio City Provisions, which is open daily from 10-7.

  • Want to spread the news about Fresh Fork in your community? Let us know! We have posters and fliers that we'd be happy to bring to you this week (along with a little thank you present :) Also if a digital copy would work better to help you spread the word at your company, parent group, or book club, please write to us at info@freshforkmarket.com and we'll be happy to send it all along.


The ramps are here! Ramps are a wild-growing allium, also known as a Wild Leek, and they have a delicious and short season. They grow in abundance in Ohio, West Virginia and most of Appalachia. The whole ramp is edible-- from the bulb through the green. Use your processor to whip them into a pesto, or maybe grill and chop to make a garlicky sandwich or burger topping, mix into pasta... tons of fun recipes listed at the bottom of this newsletter.
This week's bag is one of our favorites that we've put together all winter-- let's end this thing right! You'll all be getting a bunch of ramps, a head of fresh green lettuce, a bottle of sunflower oil (use for cooking, making salad dressings, or maybe a pesto with the ramps!), and a pint of our fermented pickle chips from Wholesome Valley Farm. And a trio of frozen items-- sweet corn, blueberries, and either blackberries or cantaloupe.

The Omnivore Shares will also get a pound of grass-fed ground beef, a pack of chicken patties (3 per pack), as well as a piece of Middlefield Cheese. Check out our Chicken Burger Lettuce Wraps recipe. The Vegetarians will get a dozen eggs, pizza dough & tomato sauce instead, as well as a bag of oats to make some baked oatmeal or a fruit crumble with all your frozen sweets.
REMINDERS

Cash, check, credit card or credits only at the stop this week.

We are tying up all of our Winter Accounts, so all purchases need to be paid for on the spot-- bring your check book or some petty cash, or plan to use up your credits!

Also, if you owe anything on your account (you should have received a payment reminder), please either make that payment online ( click here to sign into your account ), mail in a check (3800 Woodland Avenue, Cleveland OH 44115) or bring payment with you to the stop this week.
