With the sun and warmer temperatures this week, it's a great reminder that Spring really is coming. In the world of produce, however, Spring produce still has a while before it becomes available to us. There is still a great variety of Winter produce to enjoy so before citrus and root crops disappear, be sure to enjoy them again in some delicious, comforting recipes we have included below.
This weeks produce baskets feature the Deadon Cabbage from Queens Greens in Hadley, MA.
Deadon is a really nice, tender and leafy savoy cabbage, it can be used in many dishes as a substitute for a leafy green.

Grape Varietal: 50% Tannat, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Designation: Organic
Notes: A blend predominantly of Tannat (a grape originating in France but more popularly grown in South America) and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is ruby red in the glass. On the nose succulent notes of black fruit interwoven with dark chocolate and warm spice, especially ginger. The palate is medium-full bodied with rich cassis, sweet black cherry and black olive mingled with clove and cinnamon, finishes rich and soft, balanced and fresh. This wine is also very deep and earthy and brings great tannins to the table. A firm wine that would also contribute to the fuller styles that are seasonally appropriate.
Drink if you enjoy: Juicy, rich fuller bodied, bold blends of Cabernet Sauvignon. A super delicious "garagiste" wine!
