President's Message

Sharon Mitchell

The Spirit of Giving . . . an Exciting 2014 for Impact 100

We have a very exciting 2014 shaping up for Impact 100.

Recruiting for the 2014 Impact Year is well underway, and we already have over $250,000 committed - approaching our highest ever total.  Everyone is working hard to get to $300,000 - which would enable us to give three $100,000 grants for the first time ever.  If you can help by bringing a friend or colleague to Impact 100 - there is no better time than now!  Please share the Impact 100 story, bring a friend, and help us reach our goal.

The Non-Profit Agencies in our community are showing a very strong interest in applying for an Impact 100 grant.  Over 100 agency representatives attended the information sessions held in November, and many have begun the process of completing a Letter of Intent (LOI).

The new 2014 Impact 100 Board is in place, and will begin work in January.  We are fortunate to have a wonderful Board of 20 talented, committed women serving the organization.  They include:

  • Sharon Mitchell, President
  • Erin Arnold, Vice President
  • Lisa Kaminski, Vice President Recruiting
  • Donna Broderick, Treasurer
  • Lyn Jarc, Secretary/Nominating
  • Marilyn Kinne, Grant Review Coordinator
  • Andrea Flora, CIRC
  • Angie Otis, Recruiting
  • Sandy Greenwald, Communications/Web Site
  • Becki Meyer, Marketing/External Communication
  • Kim Watts McMillan, Membership
  • Kelly Mahan, Membership
  • Kim Corrigan, Membership
  • Clare Zlatic Blankemeyer, Not-for-Profit Coordinator - Outreach
  • Sally Nugent, Not-for-Profit Coordinator
  • Susan Cranley, Grant Review Chair
  • Tawnya Childress, Grant Review Chair
  • Daniela Neukam, Grant Review Chair
  • Jennifer Sheil, Grant Review Chair
  • Delane Starliper, Grant Review Chair
I'd like to extend a special thanks to the members of the 2012-2013 Board for their outstanding leadership, service, passion and hard work.  They've left a solid foundation for continued growth.  We're sad to say farewell to several departing members - Annemarie Henkel, Jackie Wilson, Barbara Mustoe-Monteith, Yvonne Thomas, Susan Podwell-Jenkins, Sue Brunker and Lydia Robinson who will continue to be a part of Impact 100.

We invite all our members to serve on an Impact 100 Committee, and we have a wide variety of opportunities including:

  • Grant Review Committees (there are 5 committees - one for each focus area)
               Culture
               Education
               Environment
               Family
               Health & Wellness
  • Community Investment Review Committee (CIRC)
  • Communications & Marketing Committee
  • Membership Committee
  • Recruiting Committee

Please watch the website for Committee sign-up instructions. I look forward to working with many of you on the Impact 100 Committees in 2014. Have a very Happy Holiday, and a Peaceful and Happy New Year.

Warm Regards,

Sharon Mitchell

IN for 2014 - The Race to 300!

"Own your dreams. There is no better way to make them happen." Seth Godin

Impact 100 Cincinnati clearly defined and articulated our dreams. Long term:  we want to award 5 grants, one in each focus area. Short term: FUND THREE GRANTS IN 2014!  Thus, the 'race to 300' began...

Even prior to the September Annual Awards Celebration, we had commitments to fund one grant!  As you read this, we have commitments to award more grant monies than we ever

have - $259,500!

We have been able to achieve this milestone because of you and your commitment to help transform our community.  You've told friends, coworkers and neighbors about your Impact 100 experience and how good it feels to award $100,000+ grants.  You've seen and shared the first-hand testimonials of the transformation our grants make on the not-for-profits, their constituencies, and our community.

We are within 31 days of finalizing our 2014 membership and we need your help!  Please bring a friend to  Giving Tuesday and let them feel the magic of Impact 100.  Ask them to join us in changing lives in our community.  This will allow us to achieve our goal of funding THREE grants in 2014.

If you would like help from someone on the recruiting team, please email  recruiting@impact100.org or call 513.554.3065.

THIS is our time and together we can take our membership - and grant awards - to a new milestone level!   Thank you.  And, we look forward to seeing tomorrow at Giving Tuesday.

 Wish List Update

We are excited to announce that Impact 100 will award $3000 in Wish List Funds to the three Finalist agencies that were not 2013 Grant Recipients. Kennedy Heights Arts Center, 4C for Children, and Healthy Moms & Babes will each receive $1000! This is the result of generous donors, and members who committed and funded their 2014 membership by 10/31/13. THANK YOU for your support!

Impact 100 Member

Who I am.
I am Traci Byrge. I am mom to my 16 year old daughter who is a junior at Oak Hills High School - Highlanders! She is involved with the Marching Band so we spend our Friday nights on the football field and Saturday mornings at various local parades and events performing. I am also a die-hard Bengals fan and will root them on even in the bad years!

What got you involved in Impact 100?

I've worked at Fifth Third Bank for the last 13 years. Thanks to all the 5/3 women involved with the Impact 100 organization, I was introduced to the group about seven years ago. I've had the pleasure of working on various Impact 100 "behind the scenes" projects. I was graciously sponsored to become a duet member for 2013. And "I am in!" for 2014 as well.

What keeps you a member?

One of my favorite things about Impact 100 membership is learning about the non-profit projects in our community. We have a great need in Greater Cincinnati!

Impact 100 is social!
