2022 FRAUD AWARENESS WEEK RECAP

For the second consecutive year, NASWA was a proud supporting organization of International Fraud Awareness Week. NASWA's dedicated Fraud Awareness webpage saw nearly 750 visitors during the week and 13 states participated in the social media campaign built for UI agencies.


Fraud Week may be over, but resources are still available! Visit the Fraud Week page to access resources including a “Fraud Fact Challenge” quiz, a claimant guide to understanding phishing and smishing, and other educational resources on fraud awareness.

Unemployment Insurance IT Support Center

(UI ITSC)

ANNUAL REPORT

UI ITSC's recently released FY22 annual report focuses on the previous year’s activities including modernization & technical assistance, products & tools, and education & training. Highlights include:


Modernization & Technical Assistance Review of new state projects initiated in 2022 and state member feedback on the effectiveness of UI ITSC in fulfilling its mission.



Products & Tools UI ITSC held a security webinar and released different resources on ransomware.


Education & Training UI ITSC delivered multiple in-person and virtual trainings to states engaged in or preparing for upcoming IT modernization projects. The training curriculums included “Business Analyst Boot Camp for Subject Matter Experts” and “User Acceptance Training.”

Interstate Connection Network (ICON)

NEW LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES!

Two new online, self-paced lessons are available within the ICON Reporting Module: Crossmatches and Liable-Agent Data Transfer (LADT).


These lessons are available in addition to previously released trainings in the ICON Claims and ICON Federal Claims certificates. Additional lessons are in development. Stay tuned!

Join us Wednesday, December 14 at 3:00 PM ET for ICON Programmer Tech Talks focusing on Withdrawn/Invalid Claim 2nd Edition (WIC2).


These monthly sessions are a virtual series in partnership with USDOL allowing state ICON programmers the opportunity to collaborate, discuss best practices, receive technical assistance, and hear an overview of the ICON system.
