2024 All Heart Parks Advocate Award Seeking Nominations!
The Mayor's Office, the Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth & Community Services, and the Board of Park Commissioners will be recognizing a volunteer(s) in the community that has made significant contributions to improving the quality of the Bristol park system. The award recipient will be honored at the 3rd Annual Dinner on the Diamond Fundraiser on May 11, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Muzzy Field. The nomination deadline is 5:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Self Defense

Bristol Arts & Innovation Magnet School (BAIMS)
Self Defense will teach protective tips to avoid confrontations, as well as self-defense techniques when conflict cannot be avoided. This class is instructed by Sensei Frank Shekosky, owner of Cromwell Martial Arts. No experience is necessary. Learn More

Aqua Pilates "Aqualates"

AQUALATES is Pilates exercises that are translated into a pool setting using pool noodles, boards, the pool wall, and floor for assistance. Aqualates exercises are controlled movements that challenge stability, develop breathing technique and improve core strength. All fitness and ability levels welcome.

On Saturday January 10th Downtown Live hosted the 5th Annual Community Conversation featuring the touring comedy group, 1 Degree of Separation. This years' Conversation was a comedy show that brought light to suicide, depression, and the stigma surrounding mental health. We feel extremely grateful to all who attended and opened themselves up to the dialogue. We laughed, we cried, and we learned a lot through the personal stories shared and the wonderful local resources made available. Read More | |

While BPRYCS encourages community members to register for programs in advance, we have a number of programs that offer "Drop In" participation. Want to give it a try first? Not sure if you can commit? Drop In -

Winter Weather Closure Policy -
This is a reminder that when Bristol Public Schools are closed, the Dennis Malone Aquatics Center (DMAC) will be closed. When Bristol Public Schools observe a delayed opening, DMAC will open at noon. When Bristol Public Schools dismiss early, DMAC will close early with notification to all participants.
