Not surprisingly, the longest State of the Union ever was filled with an avalanche of lies. Remember, Republicans lie because they don’t have any real solutions. Not for the economy, not for immigration, not for health care. Still waiting on the Obamacare replacement.

Republicans lie because it covers for the fact that no Republican policy in the last 50 years has improved the economic life of the 90%. Even on the rare occasion they do something well-meaning, like the Earned Income Tax Credit, Democrats have to fix it to make it work. During the ‘80s, 6 million Americans benefited from it. It took Democrat Bill Clinton to change the program, and today 24 million benefit and few policies have done more to lift people out of poverty. Which begs the question, why not expand this?

Anyway, as a result of Republican lies one day you’re going to turn around and need help getting a passport only to find a State Department that’s inept. You’re going to need to file a claim with OSHA, but it won’t be there anymore if Republicans get their wishes. And one day you’re going to show up to the polls to vote and only then find out that these lies mean you are no longer an eligible voter.
