Mrs. Sagat Says...

Dear St. Alphonsus Families,

We hope you are all enjoying the long weekend! Today our teachers are in the building for some staff professional development and work time. Our younger grades received a presentation from the Greendale School District about speech pathology and interventions. This is always helpful to know what to look for and how to best support students who receive speech services.

In case you missed it, Tuition Rates & Registration Information for the 2026-2027 School Year were released to you via email last week. I want to apologize that the Tuition Paid Reports did not go home on Thursday like we thought they would--these took a little longer to organize and so we will be sending them home with students on Tuesday. Thank you for your patience!

The registration form is available here and we encourage all families to return it early! To help encourage this, we have a fun little prize giveaway: any family who returns their form by the end of February will receive an out-of-uniform pass for each of their students. The informational letter regarding tuition can be found here and our updated tuition policy & rates can be found here. As always, we will again have financial aid available for those families who may need it. We thank you for your commitment to Catholic education and to our school! We are so grateful for the community and support here.

A reminder that if you are a family who is applying for School Choice, the applications opened last week at https://dpi.wi.gov/choice. If you are applying for Choice, you would ONLY apply to St. Alphonsus School online: you do not need to complete our separate Registration Form at this time. If you are not accepted into the Choice program, THEN you would need to complete our Registration Form at THAT time. The first round of Choice applications closes on February 20. The window for applications would then re-open from March 1 - March 20. If you have any questions about tuition, registration, or school choice, please reach out to me directly at msagat@st-alphonsus.org.

This week's newsletter is FULL of great stuff about upcoming Home & School events, Forensics and Athletics news, and more. Please also see the first bio feature for our new staff members below! I am also looking forward to the 100th Day of School on Thursday and Valentine's Day celebrations at the end of the week!

Have a great week!

Megan Sagat
Principal

Welcome, Ms. Dossett!

Welcome to our new 3K early childhood aide, Ms. Bianca Dossett! Please learn a little bit more about her below:

Hello! My name is Bianca Dossett and I am excited to be joining the St. Alphonsus family. Through my previous work as a 3K aide and my years of volunteering in Catholic schools, I have gained meaningful experience supporting young learners in a nurturing, faith-filled environment.

My husband and I are proud parents of a son in the sixth grade and a 120-pound Bernedoodle named Gordon. When I’m not at school, we enjoy spending time outdoors as Gordie loves his walks, hikes and bike rides. I also enjoy cooking, baking and appealing to my creative side with lots of arts-n-crafts, and I always welcome a good read, especially an-edge-of-your-seat mystery!

I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the St. Alphonsus parish and school community and look forward to supporting our students and families throughout the year.

Please say hello to Ms. Dossett when you see her and give her a warm St. Alphonsus welcome!

School Choice Information

The February School Choice Application Window is Currently Open

Think of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program as a new form of financial aid available to our current families. Our goal with this program is to be able to better assist our families already attending St. Alphonsus in affording Catholic school tuition! Enrollment into this program opens on February 2 and we encourage those families who are interested to apply early. You can find more information on schoolchoicewi.org and see the income eligibility chart below to learn if you qualify. The portal for applications is now open for our first round and will close on February 20. Apply online at this link.

Girls on the Run is Back for the 2026 Season!

Registration is open from February 16th to February 22nd at this link.

GOTRSEWI.ORG

The Girls on the Run program inspires girls in Grades 3 through 5 to discover, build, and grow their self-confidence. Together, they experience a sense of belonging and connection as a team. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy. At the end of the season, the team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.

This year's practice dates will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:30pm. The season will run from March 23rd to June 1st.

Our coaches this year are Mrs. Domzil (5K teacher), Ms. Brennan (former 5th grade teacher), and Mrs. Knautz (3K teacher).

For questions, please reach out to Mrs. Domzil at kdomzil@st-alphonsus.org.
