The AIA Louisiana Professional Achievement Awards recognize individuals for their excellent work and service to the profession, and their dedication to the practice of architecture. Participation in each category is limited to current membership in AIA Louisiana.
It is through the recognition of excellence and distinguished service that we promote the value of the profession as a whole. Please help us recognize the efforts of your peers.

AIA Louisiana 2021 Board Nominations
|
|
Nominations are now open for the 2021 AIA Louisiana Board of Directors! Are you interested in serving or know of a great candidate? Below are the opportunities for current AIA members….
Vice-President/President-Elect: Would serve as the 2021 Vice-President and 2022 President. Should have already served at least one year on the AIALA Board of Directors or higher leadership in the last five years, and have led a local Chapter or Section.
Secretary/Treasurer: Two-year term. The Secretary/Treasurer shall act as the recording and corresponding secretary of the Chapter and the Board of Directors, and shall attend all their meetings and keep minutes of the proceedings. The Secretary/Treasurer shall act as the Treasurer and shall exercise general oversight of the Chapter's financial affairs and shall perform all the duties incident of the office of Treasurer and other duties properly assigned by the Board of Directors or the President in coordination with AIALA Executive Director, bookkeeper, and others as necessary.

COVID-19 reopening guidance from architects, public health experts, engineers, and more
|

To develop guidance on how to modify the built environment to reduce risk of exposure to COVID-19, and to avoid recurring cycles of outbreak, AIA convened a virtual charrette with architects and experts in public health, engineering, and facilities management. The outcome,
AIA’s Reopening America: Strategies for safer buildings initiative,includes risk management tools, building type specific guidance for offices, retailers, and schools, pandemic mitigation strategies, and case studies to help buildings re-open safely. A summary of these resources is listed below:

- A report detailing the background, process, and outcomes of the charrettes.
- A summary of the COVID-19 emerging research and public health briefings that provided the foundation of the charrette work.
- A Risk Management Plan and worksheet to empower teams to identify and prioritize the hazards, risks, and controls for their specific building.
- An expanded Re-occupancy Assessment Tool; now featuring COVID-19 mitigation strategies specific to schools, offices, restaurants, senior living facilities, retail establishments, and multifamily housing facilities.
- An expanded ArchMap featuring firms’ design projects that reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
- Building type specific renderings and reports illustrating and characterizing the hazards and strategies specific to building types. Published reports feature offices, retail establishments, and schools.

Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship

The Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship recognizes the significant contributions of emerging professionals at early stages in their careers and helps defray the costs associated with the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). Developed by the AIA National Associates Committee, the scholarship honors the memory of late friend and colleague, Jason Pettigrew.

Scholarship recipients will receive funds to cover the cost of the ARE, as well as study materials and access to
ArchiPrep.
Applicants must:
- be a current Associate AIA member,
- hold an active National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) record,
- and be eligible to sit for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE).

LABI's Louisiana Free Enterprise Institute is hosting the third series of Leadership Bootcamps designed to teach, train and launch pro-business leaders to run for office. These sessions are complimentary and open to the public but registration prior to the event is required. Our Bootcamps are non-partisan, and are open to individuals associated with any political party or not associated with any political party.
