Character Trait: Gratitude

A person of gratitude shows an appreciation and gratefulness in numerous kind ways toward others.

From Head of School
Lacey Scadden
CEC is closely monitoring the COVID data around the state and neighboring districts by watching the trends in positive cases and responses in the schools. I was recently on a call with one of the state epidemiologists who stated a lag in time with a change on the dial on the data dashboard and the implications of the guidelines. So while currently our county is in Level 1 cautious in the safer at home our level, it could increase within the next month if the trend of an increase of cases continues due to the lag time in changing the dial.
Because of the small size of our school we will continue in person learning even if the county moves into level 2 concern. We will evaluate a pivot to remote learning if the county moves to a Level 3 high risk, because at this point, the guidance does suggest remote learning. Our goal is to stay open to in person learning as long as it is safe to do so.
In the event we do have a positive case at school we would pivot to remote learning for 14 days. If someone at school is in close contact of a positive case that individual will be asked to quarantine and learn remote for 14 days. We appreciate everyone staying home with any symptoms and engaging in remote learning until those symptoms clear up.

Backpack: Supplemental Food for Weekends

Launched by Feeding America in 1995, the Backpack program is administered through the Food Bank and provides children in need with a weekend food pack filled with nutritious, non-perishable items. Schools refer children in need to the program. Each bag consists of at least one main meal per day, breakfast items, peanut butter, milk and snacks to get the children through the weekend. Items are easy to open, heat and consume, even for a small child. To participate in this program please email the number of children in your household to marika.lefevre@coloradoearlycolleges.org

Our district is Colorado Charter School Institute. Your application increases our state funding and grants that we can then give back to students. Just a few minutes of your time can help all students. Even if you don't think you qualify, it helps our school if you complete the application for free and reduced meals.
