UI IB & Federal Programs Training; UI SIDES Seminar
Unemployment Insurance Interstate Benefits & Federal Programs Training  will meet  March 3-5  in  Kansas City, Missouri .

This training is designed to promote cooperation among states in managing Unemployment Insurance Interstate and Combined Wage Claim (CWC) operations and to promote efficient administration of the Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (UCFE) and the Unemployment Compensation for Ex-service members (UCX) programs.
UI SIDES Seminar  will meet  March 3-6  in  Kansas City, Missouri

The State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) Seminar is a gathering for state workforce members, employers and third-party administrators (TPAs) to discuss current and developing trends in the unemployment program and how SIDES can be used to enhance integrity measures, streamline claims processing and reduce agency costs.

NASWA POLICY COMMITTEES
DECEMBER COMMITTEE MEETINGS
More than 150 NASWA members attended meetings for the Board of Directors', Employment & Training Committee, UI Integrity Center Steering Committee, Unemployment Insurance Committee, and Veterans Affairs Committee in New Orleans, Louisiana the week of December 9 th to discuss workforce issues and best practices.

EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING COMMITTEE

The Employment & Training Committee will meet February 13-14, 2020 in Washington, DC during the week of Winter Policy Forum. Learn more about the committee and how you can be involved!
VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Wayne Smith, New Jersey’s Veterans Program Coordinator, and his family were among tens of thousands of volunteers who laid wreaths at national cemeteries on National Wreaths Across America Day on December 14. Wayne and his family have been helping with this project at Arlington National Cemetery for 16 years. Not only do they help lay the wreaths in December, but they go back and help remove them in February. Wayne is a retired Army Chaplain, and an active member of the NASWA Veterans Affairs committee.
EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING COMMITTEE
The NASWA Employment & Training (E&T) Committee’s December meeting was a success, with 33 state leaders and almost half the states represented, impressive speakers, and robust state roundtable discussions. Chair Tamika Ledbetter (Alaska) led the meeting with support from Vice-Chair Deniece Thomas (Tennessee).
