Join Career coach Annie Chadwick and Up-to-Date Actor creator, Abigail Hardin, for an in-depth approach to seeking representation and how to be a collaborator once you have it.

"Creating a successful performance career can be somewhat of an elusive path. Most aspiring artists begin with the assumption that if they can quickly sign with a good agent or personal manager, then their career will instantly take off. Representation is an important component of any performance career but in many instances, it is not the most advisable first step."

Learn how to create a successful representation campaign and how The Up-to-Date Actor (a new digital resource) can aid you in targeting the agents & managers who are seeking your unique talent.

All attendees new to Uptodateactor.com will receive a FREE 1-Month Full Access Trial.

Hi Folks! We are back and ready to go forward in 2023. Hope you all had a happy family holiday, and wishing you a prosperous and healthy New Year!
RG Studios is feeling the energy of a new era, putting the covid slump behind us but still aware that covid has not been eliminated from our lives. We now deal with it responsibly and with less fear. Stay healthy and safe in your travels and social interactions, do not hesitate to wear a mask in crowded situations.
We went to LA after Christmas for 11 days and stayed in Santa Monica in cool rainy weather, which was very unusual for this time of year. It was good to see the rain, but now it is very uncomfortable for everyone dealing with the negative aspects of so much water. Forget about driving. The "Lost Angels" stay off the roads when possible. When they do drive it is hit and miss (literally) as no one is used to driving in the rain. We just took Ubers everywhere. We ate well, went to the movies and did some shopping. We always get a room with a large balcony and a view of the beach. We stay two blocks away from the Santa Monica Pier, one of America's treasures, with beautiful Pacific sunsets. I brought my boogie board and wetsuit and was able to get into the water one day of the two sunny days we were graced with. It was exhilarating! It is mind-blowing how nurturing "ocean bathing" is. It's spiritually advised that when you travel near a large body of moving water (oceans and rivers) that you get wet, even if it is just your feet, and envision or pray. If it's cold just splash some on your face - it is a blessing (consider that major spiritual ceremonies usually involve water of some sort.) I believe water energy is strong and cleansing because of our ocean origins.
This Chinese Astrological year is the Year of the Rabbit (a very sexy sign). With Chinese New Year starting soon, check your sign for info about this year; It's based on your birth year.
This month is our amazing 36th (lucky number 9) business anniversary, celebrated on January 27th (9 again). Our first name was Fitness Concepts for Life, Inc., a fitness company that we operated out of the West Side Rehearsal Studios at 131 West 72nd Street in 1985. We took over the lease for that location in 1987 and formed New York Spaces, Inc. We still retain the phone number: 212-799-LIFE(5433). In 1999, we chose Ripley-Grier Studios as our d/b/a, and added Ripley-Grier Flexible Spaces in 2021. Check our website for old history (needs to be updated).
This is an important year of recovery, reflection and realizations of our fortunes and fate.

Happy New Year!
My parents and I celebrated the New Year in Santa Monica, CA. We were there for a week and a half, and over the course of that time, there were only about 3 days where the sun was out. It was cloudy and rainy for most of the trip; but on the bright side, the inclement weather caused most of California to come out of extreme drought! I still had a lot of fun during the trip regardless of the weather, though. I went to Universal Studios with my friend Rayleene, and did the VIP tour once again. Since it was a rainy day, the park wasn't too crowded. The next day was one of the few sunny days and we went ice skating at a small outdoor ice rink near the hotel. We also visited the Santa Monica Pier and went on all the familiar rides. She is studying to become and electrical engineer.
During the rest of the trip we went shopping, explored the area and saw three movies - Babylon, Avator: The Way of Water and Puss and Boots. All really cool in their own way. We cut our trip short because my Dad was ill and spent three days in the hospital there. He is recovering at home and doing much better.
In the last month I saw Into the Woods, Beetlejuice, and I was able to catch The Music Man (with Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster) before the last show on Jan. 15th. I loved all of these shows! They were all hilarious and had amazing actors, musicians, and dancers. I'm looking forward to seeing many more Broadway shows this year.
My current "re-viewing" show is Better Call Saul and I'm so happy it won awards this week for the show and for the actors. Bob Odenkirk rules!!
Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this week and forever!!
