At this year's Intelligent Building Conference in Nashville, there was a lot going on but only one topic was on the minds of all attendees. "The loudest message I heard was the importance of cybersecurity," said Matt Schwartz, Parallel Technologies' Director of Technology & Engineering. Key cybersecurity takeaways are: ·         
  • Technology infrastructure must be purchased and provisioned with an understanding of the business's security policy. ·         
  • Technology must allow for patching of future/unknown vulnerabilities. ·        
  • A cybersecurity policy is only as strong as the contractor responsible for installing the technology infrastructure.
Parallel Creates K-12 Security User Group 

On June 25th, Parallel Technologies brought together representatives from K-12 organizations from across Minnesota for its inaugural K-12 Security User Group meeting. The goal of the user group is to provide school district security leaders with a forum to share insight on how they are using various tools and strategies to ensure campus security as well as an opportunity for collaborative problem solving on how to overcome the challenges they're facing in their schools.

SCHWARTZ TAKES ON NEW OPERATIONS ROLE

Since joining Parallel Technologies in 2005, Karrie Schwartz has tackled a variety of functions and from those experiences has gained a thorough understands the company's business, systems, processes and people. Recently, she assumed the role of Integrator and will be responsible for the internal operations of the company.
 
"In her new role she will provide consistency and bring together the people, process and tools across the organization, while positioning us internally to meet the company vision," said Dale Klein, President and CEO of Parallel Technologies. "Karrie will be instrumental in nurturing our core values and trust to increase efficiencies and execute our future strategy to achieve the company vision."
