The employees of Spirit Bank will be serving breakfast for Freedom School scholars, their families, volunteers, and community members.

Everyone in the congregation is invited to join!

Come see what the Freedom School excitement is all about!

You are invited to “shop early” for Items for Build a Gift, our Christmas outreach for children in the congregation and community, and for the Giving Tree, the outreach to families who need some extra assistance at Christmas time. The largest need for the Giving Tree ministry is $25 Walmart Gift cards. You can take a tag from the Giving Tree in the area at the back of the sanctuary or find a “shopping list” on the website or in the app under “Service.” Financial donations are also welcome. Please be sure to note that your gift is for “Build A Gift” or “Giving Tree.”

Please bring items to the church by the end of July. Thank you for your generosity in July!

Dear Friends,

This Sunday is the last Sunday for a three-week series focusing on some of Jesus’ parables about Seeds ‘n Weeds.  Because I grew up on a farm, it’s easy for me to connect with Jesus’ parables about plants and farming. Rather, it’s easy until it’s not. That’s because even though parable start out with a familiar trajectory, they change course at some point, and leave us scratching our heads.

The parables Jesus told help stretch us to imagine a different way of life, the ways of the Kingdom of God which are often so different from the ways of the world. This coming Sunday we will talk about a tiny mustard seed that grows into a big plant…but it seems there might be more to the story, that will stretch cause us to scratch our heads and stretch our understanding.

As we prepare for worship this Sunday, I Invite you to consider how you might be called by God to stretch your understanding or way of thinking? Or, to prepare for worship call to mind a time you witnessed a small seed, planted in faith, grow into something far bigger than you ever imagined? Or as you prepare for worship, consider how are you being called to let go of control, and to let God take care of growing.

I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!

God’s grace and peace be with you,

Pastor Kim
