The Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services Main Office and the Dennis Malone Aquatics Center (DMAC) will be closed on Friday, July 4th for Independence Day.

4th of July - Reminders:

  • Page Pool and Rockwell Pool are Open on the 4th of July from 1:00 - 7:00 PM.
  • Learn to Swim Lessons at Page Pool and Rockwell Pool will operate as scheduled for the 4th of July.
  • There are no Learn to Swim Lessons at DMAC on the 4th of July.

This field trip based camp will get your teens engaged this summer with weekly excursions and entertainment. Teens are dropped off at Bristol Eastern High School and will get plenty of opportunities to learn, socialize, and build relations with their peers through constant activities and trips.

Basketball League at Brackett Park

A FREE recreational basketball league offered in partnership with the Bristol Police Department and Bristol Boys and Girls Club. The league includes six weeks of regular season games with one week of playoffs culminating a championship game. American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Ages 15+

This is an official certification class that follows the newest American Red Cross Lifeguard Training curriculum. Participants will learn the fundamentals of water safety, CPR/First Aid and lifeguard skills for responding to emergency situations in and around the water. The course will feature both classroom style lectures, video and in water skill training. BPRYCS has year-round and seasonal Lifeguard positions available for those who successfully certify. Learn More

8th Annual Mayor's Back to School Pencil Hunt

Please note the changes to the Dennis Malone Aquatics Center (DMAC) Daily Swim Fees and Memberships -

Daily Swim Fee increases went into effect on July 1, 2025 and updated Membership Pricing will go into effect on September 1, 2025.

Paracourse & Walking Path Upgrades at Rockwell Park

A five foot wide paved walking and jogging loop has been constructed amongst the paracourse equipment at Rockwell Park. Just shy of a quarter mile long (0.22 mi), the loop will increase accessible recreation opportunities in Rockwell Park and the West End of Bristol. Community members are encouraged to visit Rockwell Park and enjoy the new walking path!

ADA Improvements at Veterans Memorial Boulevard

Accessibility upgrades have been installed at Veterans Memorial Boulevard Park. Paved walkways, measuring five feet wide, will connect the parking lot to existing pathways around the monuments, as well as establish a path through the Urban Garden. Walkways will increase pedestrian access to East Street, Mellen Street, South Street and Memorial Boulevard. Community members are encouraged to visit Memorial Boulevard to test out the new walkways.

Transformative projects are underway across the City of Bristol parks system. The new renovations and amenities provide increased access to high-quality parks for residents and community members.
