Mrs. Sagat Says...

Dear St. Alphonsus Families,

Well, here we are! We made it! Welcome to the last week of school. It has been such a pleasure working with your students all year, and we are so excited to see you all back in the fall.

The Leadership Team would like to extend our congratulations once again to the 8th Grade Graduating Class of 2026. We had a lovely Mass & ceremony on Saturday to send them off. We are so proud of you all and know you will do great things!

Quite a bit of housekeeping this week:

First, a note about the school office hours this summer! The school office will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am to 1pm through June. July office hours will be Wednesdays from 9am to 1pm. We will update office hours for August in the July newsletter.

All tuition payments must be made by June 18, 2026. Please drop them off at school or pay online. If the office isn't open you may leave an envelope with your payment and name at the Parish office. The final Cougar Club billing will be completed by next Monday, June 8; following the last Cougar Club session on Thursday evening. Those payments must be submitted by Thursday, June 18, 2026--same as when the final tuition payment is due.

As much as we're not wishing summer away, don't forget that you can order your school supplies online via our school supply partner! More details and a link to order are below. Orders must be placed by July 1.

Also make plans to join us this summer at the Milwaukee Milkmen game on Friday, July 10! School families usually end up sitting in sections 101, 102, and 103. You can find the link to order tickets below!

There is still a lot of information in this newsletter for these last few days, particularly for our Cougar Outdoor Extravaganza tomorrow. Please read these details thoroughly as there is specific information about the gym carline. There are also reminders about clothing, shoes, and sunscreen that are important for you to note!

Yearbooks are coming home this week. A limited number of yearbooks are available for sale on a first come, first serve basis for those parents who forgot to order and would still like one. They are $18 each, cash only, and you must place your order by THURSDAY at the latest, as any remaining yearbooks will be picked up by the company on Friday.  Please send your money in a labeled envelope with your child's name and grade, and mark the envelope YEARBOOK.

Friday is the last day of school. Please note that not only is this 10:00am Dismissal, but that it will also be the day of the last school Mass of the year. This means there is NOT a school Mass on Wednesday, June 3. Please make a note for your calendars. In addition, Friday is a DRESS UP day for students. Your student may dress up for Mass, or at a minimum, they need to wear their Wednesday Mass polo with uniform bottoms. NO JEANS, T-SHIRTS, OR ATHLETIC WEAR.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for a wonderful first year as principal here at St. Alphonsus. I have loved getting to know all of you and your students better, and I am so excited for the future of our school.

On behalf of Mrs. Schermetzler, Mrs. Bruhn, and myself, we wish you all a wonderful summer!
Megan Sagat
Principal

Cougar Outdoor Extravaganza is Tomorrow!

Cougar Outdoor Extravaganza is TOMORROW!

This is a fun-filled day of activities for students and staff! Here are some important reminders for you to note:

ATTIRE

All students should wear their CLASS COLORS (listed below) and athletic bottoms (joggers, shorts, etc) for this event. In addition, please have students wear sneakers or tennis shoes. We will do water balloons this year as well so it is recommended to send a change of clothes and a towel for the end of the day! Students also need to bring a pair of shoes that can get wet--crocs, sandals, etc. Shoes MUST be worn for water balloons so if you do not send your student with an extra pair they will wear whatever shoes they have on for school that day.

5th, 6th, & 7th Grades: Red

3rd & 4th Grades: Green

1st & 2nd Grades: Blue

3K, 4K, 5K:  Yellow or Orange

SUNSCREEN We will be outdoors for much of the morning, so please apply sunscreen on your kiddos this day!  School staff cannot apply it for them, so if you are sending extra for your students to reload, please teach them how to put it on.  In addition, it is going to be beautiful tomorrow so please send your child with a WATER BOTTLE!

AFTERNOON CAR LINE

We will be utilizing the main parking lot all day. In the afternoon, we will be doing water balloons with everyone as well as an ice cream party. The main gates for the afternoon carline will be CLOSED until 2:45pm and the cones will be up. Please DO NOT come to the gym carline any earlier than that. Students will be on the playground doing water balloons and we will open the gates when finished. Thank you for your patience and for keeping our students safe while we have some water fun!

LUNCH

No hot lunch or milk will be served on Tuesday.  If you did not order your students a Cousins' Subs lunch, please remember to pack them a cold lunch & a beverage.

Any questions, please contact Mr. Gutche or Mrs. Schermetzler.

In addition thank you to our wonderful coaches and athletic board for making St. Alphonsus sports such a successful program!

Mrs. S tried to collect photos of all the teams--if she missed yours on accident, she's sorry. It's been a long week (yes, she knows it's only Monday).

There are four levels of sponsorship: $100, $250, $500 and $750. All sponsors receive their logo on the official Fun Run T-shirt and recognition in the weekly school newsletter throughout the fall.

Cycle Prep Class Available for Girls Ages 9-12

St. Al's has hosted this event in the past and was supposed to host it again this year, but the Archdiocese had staffing changes and it was canceled. However, they are now able to offer it at St. Stephen's in Oak Creek! This is a wonderful class that does a beautiful job of sharing the reality of a woman's changing body in a way that is uplifting and NOT as something negative.

Please contact Gail Schlicht for more information or to register.

Do you have items for the newsletter? To submit them or for questions and submission guidelines, please contact Amy Schermetzler.

Please note that submissions are due by 12:00pm Fridays.

Welcome to summer vacation! Where the days are long, but the snacks are gone in five minutes. May your coffee be strong and your summer relaxing!
