Can you believe we have hit the summer months! The past six months have been busy for CA Women Lead - all beginning with our very successful Women's Conference. Over the next few months, we will be launching our State Appointments Project to continue the great work of the Brown Administration and maintain that 50% of the new Governor's Administration are women appointees. We will be unveiling new ways to communicate with our members, expanding our programs to other states and making a trip to Washington DC to establish national connections that will help us expand our reach and bring our successful programs to other women in the Western Region.

2018 Women's Conference Recap
What a great conference we just had! Such incredible speakers, inspiring panelists, great
new connections and opportunities to grow personally and professionally - it was a jam packed two days! Thank you to our conference chairwoman - Mona Pasquil Rogers - she did an AMAZING job. Thank you to our conference steering committee: Ashleigh Aiken, Theresa Ashby, Arianna Barrios, Tina Javid, Jena Jensen, Young Kim, Laura Meier, Kris Murray, Carrie Nocella, and Kai Stearns Moore. Their input, suggestions and support added to the conference success and we really appreciate their support and voice in shaping the conference.
Plans are underway for our 2019 conference! We will be releasing the dates and location soon. Members of California Women Lead will get priority and discounted early bird tickets - if you are not a member or your membership has expired we hope you will join or renew today! We will also be looking for folks to serve on the 2019 Conference Steering Committee. This year we will have at least SIX committees throughout the state - San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Central Valley, Bay Area and Sacramento. Each committee will have a limited number of participants and priority goes to women who are members of California Women Lead.

2018 Appointee Reception
As part of the 2018 Women's Conference, we were honored to recognize and celebrate women serving as appointees in the Brown Administration. We also recognized Senator Dianne Feinstein with our first MOVER (Making Our Vision of Equality A Reality) Lifetime Achievement Award. While the Senator could not join us due to her hard work in Washington DC representing California, she did take the time to send her remarks and thanks via video. We also had the opportunity to remember a dear friend and California Women Lead Board Member Nancy McFadden. Nancy served as Executive Secretary (Chief of Staff) for Governor Brown. She was a stanch supporter of women leaders and was a huge part of the success of the Brown Administration reaching the milestone of 50% women appointees.
