Please Welcome Our Newest Member,

Belfast Poetry Festival!

The Belfast Poetry Festival was founded in 2004 by Annaliese Jakimides and Troy Casa and a visionary steering committee hoping to seed a great community arts event in Belfast. The event has been run by the Belfast Poet Laureate (appointed by the Belfast City Council) and a steering committee of volunteers each October since then, and is one of the few community-based, non-academic literary festivals in the country. All events are free or low cost to the public.

The Belfast Poetry Festival is an inclusive and collaboration-driven event that gives poets, artists, and audience broad opportunity to make connections, share ideas, and discover possibilities for the arts beyond the merely expected.

The Festival joins poets and artists in work that stretches the limits of each medium, bringing together established, recognized poets and emerging voices, a broad range of genres and techniques, poets from different regions across the state, and a mix of the familiar and the innovative.

The 2025 Belfast Poetry Festival will be held October 16-19. And don't miss their Summer Salon - 20th Anniversary Fundraiser coming up July 12th!

Arts in the Park ~ June 28 & 29

The Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to once again bring you one of the most enjoyed and respected fine art and craft events on the Maine coast. The 29th annual Arts in the Park will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 28th & 29th in Steamboat Landing Park on the Belfast waterfront. This is a much beloved summer kickoff event for the region and such a wonderful time to showcase great artisans and talent. In recent years, the event has shifted to highlight only Maine artists, who are plentiful and have so much to offer. The event covers many mediums, including jewelry, painting, pottery, fiber, sculpture, wood, glass, artisan food, personal care products, and more.
