Chair's Corner

This November, we need half a million Cuyahoga County residents to vote if we’re going to elect Amy Acton, Sherrod Brown, and our incredible slate of candidates.

Over the past 50 years, one thing is certain, Republicans have no new ideas, nor do they make helping the average American a priority.

What we need is a precinct-by-precinct plan and here’s how you can help:

One, talking to inconsistent voters to try to get them to vote. And two, getting vote-by-mail forms and envelopes to voters’ doors or mailboxes, in their hands or on their phones. Democrats will use these as we saw in May’s primary when we increased absentee voting by 65%! If we can get 350,000 of these out, we can reach our goal.
Also, we encourage you to get involved with your local Dem Club. Or become a street captain to help coordinate door-to-door contact in your neighborhood. And, relational organizing, which involves you talking to people you already know.

Along the way, this can help send Brian Poindexter to Congress, flip the last Republican-held County Council seat in District 5 and help end the Republican super-majority in our state house by winning House District 17.

Congratulations to all the the newly elected and re-elected members of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Central Committee (CCDP-CC).

The CCDP-CC will meet for the 2026 Reorganization Meeting on Sunday, June 14 at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium, 14100 Franklin Blvd, Lakewood, Ohio. Sign-in begins at 2pm and meeting starts at 3pm. This is a public meeting.

In addition to swearing in the new Central Committee, members will also elect Party Officers - Chair, Executive Vice-Chair, Vice-Chair/Secretary and Vice-Chair/Treasurer. Roles and responsibilities are detailed in the Bylaws posted on the website, www.cuydem.com.

Anyone interested in running for Cuyahoga County Democratic Party Officer:

Must be a resident of Cuyahoga County and not a member of any other political party and a registered voter.
Only members of the Democratic Central Committee must nominate and second the nomination.
Please email the Party at info@cuydem.com by Noon on Friday, June 12 with the names and City/Ward of the nominator and second.
On June 14, the nominator will be allocated 60 seconds and the second will be allocated 30 seconds.
Candidates will each have 3 minutes to speak.

You don’t need to bring anything except maybe a friend, or meet new friends who share your passion for justice and democracy!

Please join us as we gather each week from noon to 2:00 pm in front of Tesla Motors, 5180 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst.

What began as a protest against Elon Musk when he worked with/for Trump last year has expanded to a protest against the administration's domestic and foreign policies. The Tesla Motors site is a high visibility location for protest because of the number of cars passing by on Saturdays.
