Dear Friends,
During this season of Lent as we are “Lookin’ for Love” through the stories of Jesus found in scripture, I want to invite you to take part in remembering part of Jesus’ story during the Maundy Thursday dinner service on April 6 at 6:30 p.m.
This year rather than gathering in the sanctuary for worship we will gather around tables in Fellowship Hall, to share a meal, listen to music, and hear the story of Jesus’ last meal with his disciples before his arrest.
At the end of our mealtime each person will be invited to take a minute to tell a story of when they felt a love they will never forget to the people at their table. Then together we will celebrate “a toast to love.” After supper we will hear the story of Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion and light candles to symbolize our decision to choose love, just as Jesus did as he died on the cross.
I hope you will be part of the Holy Week dinner service and the worship services on the last two Sundays of Lent. This coming Sunday, the fifth Sunday in Lent will be a day of celebration! As we share the story of Lazarus in Johns’ gospel, will have a preview of the Easter story and God’s power that is stronger than death.
God’s grace and peace be with you,
Pastor Kim
