Chair's Corner

This past week, County Executive Chris Ronayne and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb echoed the sentiments of Democrats all over the county and the country by calling out a billionaire who’s trying to manipulate the system, and us, for his own gain.

Now of course folks like Jimmy Haslam, Musk, Trump have worked very hard in life to amass the fortunes they have. I’m sorry, that’s not right. They got everything in life handed to them by their daddies. This explains why their idea of creating jobs is to give money to the rich so they can hire people at substandard wages, give them the bare minimum in vacation and benefits, and prevent them from starting or joining unions.

They don’t give a shit about people like us because they have no idea what it means to save for a summer vacation, decide between paying their gas or electric bill, or having to continue to show up for work every day at a job they don’t particularly like. They’ve had everything handed to them.

If the history of the 20th Century taught us anything it’s that the ONLY way to grow our economy, and our country, is by putting more money in the hands of working people. That’s it. So go tell all these Republicans you want more money and you’re not going to allow them to abuse the system anymore.
