Let's go, cougars!

Dear Parents,

Every year, the stretch of time from President's Day to Easter seems to get longer. The Office of Catholic Schools, in their great wisdom, schedules a Diocesan-wide teacher training at this time of year to help break up the long days of March. The list of training sessions is long for our teachers and varied to be of most use to them individually. For example, Mr. Davis and Mrs. Mendez will be at Ireton, collaborating with their high school counterparts while our Kindergarten through 2nd-grade teachers will be at St. Agnes getting a crash course on the Science of Reading. I am personally taking advantage of these days to attend the annual Excellence In Teaching Conference hosted by the University of Notre Dame's Alliance for Catholic Education. I hope to return with lots of good insights to share with our faculty and set a good example for the students that we are all lifelong learners.

Please make note of the following CALENDAR CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT regarding the three Snow Days built into this year's calendar that we have not used.

The following three days will become NO SCHOOL days on the calendar to account for the Snow Days we have not used this year:

April 6-  NO SCHOOL (was an 11:30 day for Holy Thursday)

June 13- NO SCHOOL (was a full day)

June 14- NO SCHOOL (was an 11:30 day with NO Extended Day for anyone)

As a result of this change, the PreK (10:00 am) and K (2:00 pm) Finale Celebrations will be moved to Friday, June 9!

The last day of school for PreK through 7th grades will be Monday, June 12, which will be an exciting new Field Day "Fun Run" Extravaganza! Stay tuned for more details!
