  • Thanks to everyone who made the Talent Show, Backyard Bash, and Yearbook distribution a success! It was a great way to celebrate the last day for seniors!
  • TJ's National Honor Society recently completed a project to benefit the Denver Dumb Friends League animal shelter. Club members weaved together old shirts and clothing to make dozens of durable dog chew toys for the adorable adoptable pets at the local DDFL Shelter. The toys were donated at the annual Furry Scurry, a Dog Walk to benefit the pet shelter and homeless pets in the city of Denver. Hopefully or BFF's (Best Furry Friends!) will have fun with their new toys!

In addition to the numerous concurrent enrollment classes we offer at TJ during the school year, your student can earn college credits by taking concurrent enrollment classes this summer! Offered with Regional Summer School, the summer concurrent enrollment courses are condensed five-week courses. Entering college with completed credits makes the path to a college degree shorter and less expensive.

When?
  • June 21 - July 21, 2022
  • 8:00am - 12:00pm, with no classes on July 4th and 5th
  • Students must commit to the course and be present for all class days

Where?
Courses offered through CCD will be located at Bruce Randolph and Lincoln high schools and courses offered through CCA will be located at Florida Pitt Waller. You will get to choose your course, but not your location.
  • Most courses will be conducted in-person with specific meeting dates and times.
  • A few courses will be offered remotely with synchronous and asynchronous time.

Students are limited to taking 1 (one) concurrent enrollment class over the Summer.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity or if you have questions about what classes are offered, contact your student's counselor or Graham Baughn, Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator at TJ, by email at graham_baughn@dpsk12.net

Did You Know…?

Yes, I want that, how can I get it?
Try a random act of kindness- hold the door for someone, smile more at people, call/text/email a friend to say hi and that you are thinking about them, etc. https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/kindness-ideas

Try a gratitude journal (some questions: Who is someone who lives far a way that you are grateful for?, What was the best part of your day?, Tell about your favorite place outside. Who is someone who helped you today?)

Celebrate minor accomplishments by celebrating what you have and not dwelling on what you don’t

Tell those around you that you care about them

⧫ Try a Gratitude Flip- 1) write down something that was challenging for you today, and now 2) Complete the following, “I am grateful for ___________ (challenging situation), because _____________ (how did you learn from it, grow stronger, etc.?)
