Hi. Today I want to talk about what has happened in Ohio over the last 3 decades.

Per capita income has fallen to the point where the average Ohioan makes more than 11% less than what the average American makes. Ohio ranks 37th in per capita income, 44th in health, and 30th in education. We’re not even in the top half of states in rankings that actually matter. The common thread in these last 30 years is that Republicans have controlled the State Senate the entire time, and the Governor’s office and State House for 26 of the last 30 years. And we’re falling wayyyy behind.

Republicans have moved our jobs out of Ohio, made a mockery of our education system which is why companies won’t hire Ohioans, and they’re going to keep screwing us.

Meanwhile the Ohio Republican Party last week endorsed a guy for governor who moved his business out of our state. Remember that!

The simple goal of Democrats: better jobs, better education, and a better life. Republicans have shown they can’t do that, nor do they want to. The Democratic Cleveland City Council recently sent a message across the state by retiring medical debt for 160,000 Clevelanders, saving them an incredible $165 million. This is what Democrats should be doing for all Ohioans.

The only people who can afford to live in Ohio are rich people and Republican lawmakers. The average Ohioan deserves at least the same.

The Proposed Ohio House of Representatives Budget Threatens the Funding of Public Libraries - The Ohio House of Representative’s proposed budget will dismantle the Public Library Fund – replacing it with an unstable funding structure that could severely impact the ability of public libraries in Cuyahoga County to offer programming, resources, services and spaces – just as the demand for these services is growing.

The proposed budget reduces funding for the libraries in Cuyahoga County by nearly 25%. - Ask Ohio House of Representatives to restore the Public Library Fund.

140 Million US Citizens do not have a passport
Up to 69 million WOMEN who changed their last name after marriage do not have a birth certificate matching their legal name
