Happy Tuesday, St. Alphonsus Families!
We can hardly believe that the end of the school year is basically here. You will receive one more school newsletter from us, next Monday, June 3, before we take a summer break from newsletters for the month of June. There is a lot going on at school in the next 6 days, and a lot to recap from the last few weeks, so let's get going!
First, we are still in need of 2 more servers for the 8th Grade Graduation Mass coming up this Saturday, June 1 at 12:00pm. Students should arrive for serving around 11:45 and will be done by 1:00pm. If your student is interested, please contact Mrs. Schermetzler.
Second, please note that our SCRIP program is not going on vacation for the summer! SCRIP is an excellent way to earn tuition rebates for yourself and money for our school. Please check out the parent testimonial before and contact SCRIP coordinator Vickie Major to learn more. We would love to see more families utilizing SCRIP this summer!
Did you catch Mrs. S spending the night on the roof last week? She read some stories, both at night and in the morning, and was up with the birds (literally). You can check out the highlights on our school Instagram page here.
In addition, last week we had a Principal for the Day! Mr. Grayson from 1st Grade gave all students an out-of-uniform day, helped announced our fire drill, and shared a special lunch with his class, in addition to doing the morning announcements. Great job, Mr. Grayson!
Lastly, thank you to everyone who attended State of the School last week! The Leadership Team loved presenting to you and getting a chance to mingle and answer questions. As always, our doors (and ears!) are open, so please don't ever hesitate to reach out with questions and concerns. We are happy to hear from you.
There is a ton of important info in this week's newsletter, so please be sure to read thoroughly. Have a great week!
Best regards,
Ms. Parey, Principal
Mrs. Schermetzler & Mrs. Bruhn, Leadership Team

Printed notices will go home this week, so look for those in backpack mail.
If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Schermetzler. Sometimes books are returned or get misfiled, so I am here to help if you think a book was already returned!

Cougar Outdoor Extravaganza is coming up next week!
This is a fun-filled day of activities for students and staff, and we have a few surprises this year as well! However, we can't do it without the help of a few parent volunteers.
Check out our sign-up genius here. We are flexible on timing so come when you can!
All students should wear their UNITY shirts and athletic bottoms (joggers, shorts, etc) for this event. In addition, please have students wear sneakers or tennis shoes. We will do water balloons this year as well so it is recommended to send a change of clothes and a towel for the end of the day!
Any questions, please contact Mr. Gutche or Mrs. Schermetzler.

The SCRIP Program is Not Going on Summer Vacation!
If you place an order for cards we have in stock (Kwik Trip, Woodman's, Sendiks or Pick n' Save, Culver's and Cousins), SCRIP Coordinator Vickie Major will deliver to the Parish Office for you to pick up if you don't want to wait for weekend pick-up at church. Don't let three months of earning tuition credit pass by!
Using SCRIP is really easy. Check out this testimonial from a school family:
Hello St. Alphonsus Family and Friends,
I would like to share how our family was easily able to raise hundreds of dollars for our school and for tuition reimbursement for our kids' education here at St. Alphonsus. Last fall at Back to School night, I heard the SCRIP presentation and thought that it seemed like a good idea to really delve into the program. So, I did! I downloaded the app, asked Vickie Major some questions, and off I went. Our experience has been really great. We use a combination of physical gift cards and e-gift cards. We started by using them for purchases at Pick 'N Save, Woodman's and Kwik Trip. Then I started paying attention to all the retailers that we could buy gift cards from and now whenever we have the opportunity to use one, we do! All our favorite retailers are available: Target, Walgreens, Home Depot, Starbucks, Children's Place, TJMaxx, Panera, Qdoba, etc. It's great when Kwik Trip runs bonuses of 7% on gas or 15% on groceries, or even better is the 19% bonus Bath and Body Works!
What I really love about the program is that the app is super convenient, and allows us to buy gift cards whenever we need them. We have access to them instantly and they are all in one place. There are hundreds of retailers for almost any spending category available. The very best thing about this Scrip opportunity is that it doesn't require us to buy anything we are not interested in. We literally have the freedom to spend our money on exactly what we want to. All of the purchases have added up and we are so happy to report that our family alone has raised more than $650. You can, too! Join us!

Calling All Fun Run Sponsors!
Our only fall fundraiser—the Fun Run—will be back this October! In order to make this Fun Run the best one yet, we need your help getting T-shirt sponsors this summer. There are four levels of sponsorship: $100, $250, $500 and $750. All sponsors receive their logo on the official Fun Run T-shirt and recognition in the weekly school newsletter throughout the fall.
Sponsors can be the company you or a family member works for, or a local business that you frequent. Not sure about making the ask yourself? Send us your ideas and we’ll do the legwork!
Please contact Olivia Hartley with your donations and ideas, and thank you in advance for your support!

Calling all Room Parents!
First, we’d like to say THANK YOU to all the current room parents for volunteering their time this year to assist teachers and school with various events and activities throughout the year! We appreciate your time!
As this year comes to an end, now is the time to consider becoming a room parent for the 2024-2025 school year!
Room parents provide valuable assistance to our teachers by being the liaison between the teacher and classroom parents.
If you are interested in being a room parent, please email Dawn Eisold and include your name, email, phone number and your child’s name and grade for 2024-2025.
Room parents will be contacted in late August. Please remember that all room parents need to be safeguarded.
Please let us know if you have any questions and thanks for volunteering!

St. Al's Youth Ministry Sunday Scriptures
Want a good game of kickball? Want some ice cream?
Want to grow closer to Jesus while combining kickball and ice cream (well, not at the same time, that would be dangerous)?
St. Al's Youth Ministry is offering an opportunity for kids entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall to come play a game of kickball. Afterwards join us for some ice cream and brief reading of the Sunday Scriptures.
Want to know more? Fill out this google form and Miss Karen will be in touch with you!
We also do need some volunteers to help chaperone... so if you are interested in that, please check out the link or email Karen. Thank you!
