Note from Our Director

Dear Partners,

Last month, Education Development Center (EDC) created a video that highlights the critical role CSN has played in fostering improvements in child safety (LINK TO COME). This progress is only possible through our strong partnerships with national health and safety organizations, state health departments, federal agencies, universities, and hospitals that are dedicated to providing resources and support to ensure all infants, children, and adolescents are safe, healthy, and have equitable access to resources to reach their full potential.

Another exciting resource we have to share is our new blog post, "4 Questions to Ask When Preventing Teen Dating Violence," which highlights the harmful effects of teen dating violence and presents four questions that Title V agencies can ask when identifying, addressing, and preventing teen dating violence in their communities. In addition, the blog post also shares key information and resources from our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Fact Sheet, created in partnership with the Children's Safety Now Alliance (CSN-A).

Later this month, from July 23-26, CSN will be presenting at Safe Kids Worldwide's Childhood Injury Prevention Convention. Join us for our short oral presentations:

  • Monday, July 24th at 11AM ET: “Advancing Health Equity and Assessing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Multidisciplinary Team Context”
  • Tuesday, July 25th at 11AM ET: “Equity in Child Passenger Safety”
  • Tuesday, July 25th at 3:15PM ET: “Safe Sleep: Strategies to Reach Historically Marginalized Communities”

Resources from our CSN-A partners are highlighted in purple.

Please widely share these resources with your networks.

Kindly,

Jennifer Leonardo

New Blog Post: 4 Questions to Ask About Teen Dating Violence

High school is a time when many adolescents begin to explore the world of dating. These first romantic relationships are developmentally significant, as they can help adolescents build the interpersonal and resilience skills needed to navigate romantic relationships throughout their lives. However, not all teen dating relationships are healthy, carrying consequences that last long into adulthood.

In CSN’s new blog post, “4 Questions to Ask About Teen Dating Violence,” which incorporates information from CSN's Teen Dating Violence Prevention Fact Sheet, find more information about the effects of teen dating violence, along with four questions Title V agencies can ask when identifying, addressing, and preventing teen dating violence in their communities.
