Administrator's Corner
November 13, 2023
Spartans,
Let's work hard this week so that you can relax on vacation next week! There will be no school during the week of November 20th. When you return on the 27th, there are only two weeks of classes remaining before Finals Week (click here to see the schedule). For those of you who are behind on your work, please use your extra days next week to get caught up so you can finish strong.
Don't forget that as it gets colder you need to dress appropriately for the conditions and allow for extra time for the morning commute. Remember, the school doors don't open until 7:55 a.m., so staying warm until you enter the building is critical!
We will have Saturday school on 12/2 and 12/9. Those are the last 2!! Please fill out this link if you would like your student(s) to attend Saturday School on either of
Be sure to join us on Friday at 4:30 for the movie night hosted by the Hispanic and Latino Club.
Happy Thanksgiving, TJ!
Espartanos,

Last week was National School Psychology Week (NSPW)! DPS asked team members to shout out a school psychologist to celebrate, thank you to all who submitted! Check out our Top 5 shoutouts below, and see the rest of the shoutouts here.
“Natalie Koncz is our building school psychologist and does a wonderful job supporting all TJ students (and our staff as a Wellness Champion). She is an expert in mental health, learning, and behavior, collaborates extremely well with others, is calm and professional in her demeanor and has an ability to think about the big picture in order to advocate for all students. She is detail-oriented, very thorough in all she does and always puts students first. We are so lucky to have Natalie at TJ -- she makes our school a better place!” -- Maggie Kennedy, Thomas Jefferson High School

On October 27th, 10 students attended the La Raza Youth Leadership Conference sponsored by Servicios de la Raza at Regis University. They explored a resource fair, heard from Rudy Gonzales, son of Denver activist Corky Gonzales, attended multiple workshops, watched an awe inspiring Aztec dance and connected with their peers and their culture. Seniors Amina Akbichi and Yessica Navarro said it was a very inclusive day with a wide variety of workshops that helped to understand the importance of mental health and generational trauma. They said the conference helped with planning their futures with some great take away information and was a very inspiring day!
Congrats to the TJ Cheer Squad! Last week they secured their first ever First Place League Trophy!
