Happy Wanderers Hike: Hodson Preserve

Join Coastal Mountains Land Trust and MaineHealth’s Community Health program for a Happy Wanderers hike at the Hodson Preserve in Camden. This walk will start at the trailhead at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5.

The Hodson Preserve trail winds along a brook and through a hemlock grove, leading uphill to a managed organic blueberry barren with scenic views. This walk is 2.4 miles, out and back, with some elevation gain. Please bring hiking footwear, layers, tick protection and plenty of water. Hunting is not allowed on this preserve, but wearing hunter orange is still encouraged. Dogs are not permitted on this preserve, so pets will need to remain at home.

Happy Wanderers hikes are held monthly and explore a variety of trails throughout Knox and Waldo Counties. These walks are free and open to everyone.

Directions: From Camden, take Washington Street/Route 105 for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto Molyneaux Road and drive approximately 0.6 miles to the preserve parking area on the right.

Dogs are not allowed on the Hodson Preserve.

Registration: To register for this hike and view the full 2026 Happy Wanderers schedule, please visit: https://penbaywaldo.coursestorm.com/course/happy-wanderers-2026

Soaring prices for heating oil, diesel, and other energy products are creating significant challenges for Maine households, businesses, and the broader economy. This webinar will examine the outlook for energy prices heading into the winter, practical steps businesses can take to manage and reduce costs, and public policy options to address Maine's growing energy affordability challenges. Andy Price, President and CEO of the Competitive Energy Services, will join us.

Help bring a holiday meal to a Waldo County household!

🦃🦃🦃🦃

Waldo Community Action Partners’ Heroes 4 Hunger program is teaming up with Wentworth Family Grocery to raise funds for holiday food boxes for households throughout Waldo County.

You can help when you shop at Wentworth’s locations in Brooks, Northport, or Swanville by making a donation. Rewards members can also redeem points toward a donation.

With requests for food boxes at an unprecedented level and food costs rising for the second year in a row, community support is especially needed.

Donate during your next grocery trip or visit www.waldocap.org and follow the donation link on the homepage.

Thank you to Wentworth Family Grocery, WCAP, and everyone helping our neighbors this holiday season. Our local businesses and community members make a difference!

Congratulations to Keyes Pottery on their new move to 15 Main Street!

The new space brings Laura's working pottery studio and retail gallery together, giving visitors a unique opportunity to see firsthand how each piece is handcrafted.
