WASC Parent/Guardian Survey | Deadline Oct. 26th

As a reminder, Carondelet completed a very successful WASC/WCEA accreditation process in the spring of 2017. As part of that process, and to ensure that we are meeting our strategic goals, we want to continuously collect information from all our constituencies.

The survey below will help us in doing that, and in gathering important information that will lead to providing the best educational experience possible for your daughters. Thanks in advance for helping us with this.

Please fill out the WASC Parent/Guardian Survey HERE. | Deadline Oct. 26th
Invite 6th-8th Grade Families to Info Night | Oct. 16th

Tell prospective families these ways to visit campus - sign up for Info Night  this Wednesday, October 16 at 6:30 pm and Open House  on Sunday, Nov. 17 from 1:00-3:00 pm, which are open to all middle school aged girls and their families.

Our shadow visits for eighth grade students have booked up in record time - even with the addition of an extra 30 spots for the fall! College & Career Updates

Senior parents, here are some important college application reminders:

The
FAFSA opened on Oct. 1. This is the form that is required to be considered for federal student aid. The CSS Profile is an additional form that is required by many schools. Make sure to pay attention to the financial aid requirements and deadlines for each college on your daughter's list.

Your student is responsible for sending her official test scores to colleges via the College Board or ACT before the application deadline. Some colleges will accept self-reported scores .

During Workshop Wednesday on October 16, your daughter will have her college essays reviewed by English and Social Studies teachers. We are also offering CSU and UC application workshops, a community college information session, and a tutorial about answering supplemental questions. Your daughter should bring a printed copy of her college essays.

Mint, Thyme, Parsley, and Cilantro

The garden and sustainability at Carondelet are continuing to grow! The kale has sprouted, the herbs are planted, and Carondelet has never looked so green. This week the Green Team planted mint, thyme, parsley, and cilantro, which will be acclimating to the new soil this week. Currently, the kale is in the process of being thinned, since so many of the seeds sprouted. The garden is providing a great hands-on experience for students to learn about gardening.

In other news, Carondelet students gathered in the Inner Court this Thursday to watch Disney Earth, a documentary detailing the interconnected biomes of the world. Snacks, socializing, and sustainability made for a fun and educational X-block period. Thank you to everyone who came out! Each month, movies like these will be shown to spark conversations about the necessity of protecting the Earth and caring for God's creation.

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Carondelet's future, and we look forward to making more progress at Carondelet.
