Register Soon for the 2020 STEM Trip to  Switzerland  and Germany!

Ms. Levesque and Mrs. Schooler are planning another STEM trip to  Switzerland and Germany from April 2-10, 2020. View trip information!
As the world becomes more connected, it is important to increase our global perspective and cultural awareness so we reflect a greater worldview to our students. The "Discovering STEM in  Switzerlandand Germany" program we chose begins in Lucerne and visits Freiburg, Munich, Zurich, Vauban, and Salzburg.
We will see how the Alps formed and the effects of glaciation on the geography of the Alpine lands. We'll learn about green technology and environmental advances within urban living of the plus-energy town of Vauban. We'll look at the research, technology and production processes of the Auto industry with a BMW Factory Tour and the salt mines where Salzburg gets its name. And we'll celebrate our learning with delicious local foods! If you are interested in the trip or have questions, please contact Mrs. Schooler.
College & Career Updates
Senior parents, here are some important college application reminders:
  • Your daughter may submit her application at anytime before the application deadline. She does not need to wait for her teachers and counselors to send their letters of recommendation.
  • Your student is responsible for sending her official test scores to colleges via the College Board or ACT before the application deadline. Some colleges will accept self-reported scores
  • Reminder: College Counselors work off of the "Green Sheet" which lists all colleges a student is applying to and the deadlines. The form must be signed by the student and parent and turned in to her college counselor. October 1 was the deadline for a student applying Early Action, Early Decision, or Rolling Decision to any institution. November 1st is the deadline to turn in the signed Green Sheet for all Regular Decision Deadlines. Students may add colleges to their list after they have turned in the sheet by meeting with their counselor.
  • The FAFSA opened on Oct. 1. This is the form that is required to be considered for federal student aid. The CSS Profile is an additional form that is required by many schools. Make sure to pay attention to the financial aid requirements and deadlines for each college on your daughter's list.
  • FAFSA Workshop: November 4 @ 7:00 pm I Carondelet Library
Mrs. San Miguel will walk senior students and their parents through the FAFSA, line by line. Here's a list of what to bring and a printable FAFSA application . Both the parent AND the student must create an  FSA ID before attending the event.
