  • Thanks to all of the Advisement class representatives who gave valuable feedback last week! We appreciate your time and your voices.
Weather permitting, the Hebrew Alliance will be getting the easement directly off of Ivanhoe repaired on October 11. We are being told that that entire entry way will need to be shut down for the repair. This will affect the morning arrival, lunch and the end of the school day. They are hopeful that is a one day thing only. Please plan accordingly!

Be sure to visit Slices this week on Wednesday-Friday (11am-8pm) to support TJ's Interact Club!

Please mention Interact Club so that a portion of your meal goes to a good cause. Thanks for the support, TJ!
Restorative Practices is a type of Conflict Resolution that we use at TJ to resolve issues between students, peers, teachers, and staff members. Often, the Student Excellence Team facilitates what we call, “restorative conversations,” which we have found to be very effective in resolving conflict! If you are interested in trying this out at home with your families and TJ students, use the following guiding questions:

  1. What happened?
  2. What harm was done or who was affected?
  3. What do you take responsibility for?
  4. What can we do to fix this?

Each person involved in the conflict should answer the questions, one at at time, without interruptions. The final question is all about compromising and coming up with an agreement which everyone contributes to and that all can agree to. Try it out at the dinner table tonight and send us your feedback! emily_lupo@dpsk12.org
Virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place Wednesday and Thursday, Oct.13th and 14th from 3:30-7:00 p.m. Please check email and the TJ website for sign-up instructions. TJ PTO will provide a staff appreciation lunch during conferences on 10/13. Please see signup below to help out!

Did You Know…?

This would be a great week to take advantage of a more flexible schedule for your teen!

Encourage them to get outside, disconnect from their devices, and try something new with their time off. Let’s all use this week as a re-set, mental health break, and a time to re-energize and reconnect with each other in a meaningful way.
